Exporting data
Hello everyone,
I have the following problem. I am using concept 2 for at least two years however I had never opened a logbook account. I opened the account now but the older saved data on the machine are not imported from the ErgData. Instead the logbook starts from scratch. I would like to transfer all my training data into Garmin connect, is there a way to do that?
Thanks in advance
Best

Re: Exporting data
Did you try the Concept2 Utility ?
"Use the functions provided in the Concept2 Utility interface to perform tasks such as uploading your workouts, " https://www.concept2.com/service/softwa ... how-to-use
(I have not used it to move workouts, so cannot say for sure it does what you want)

Re: Exporting data
Hi
You are right, it works this way. It requires however to move every training separately which means for high number of workout a lot of time to transfer the data to a usb stick. I didn't manage to finish of course. The ultimate goal was to transfer these CSV files to Garmin connect. The CSV file consists of all the workout data of the year respectively. So for 2022 one CSV file. This one I was unable to import it. Therefore it led to my second challenge. I believe the format of the CSV is somehow not readable but I don't know in which way. Otherwise I could open the excel sheet and transform it accordingly. Let me know if you have any thoughts about it and again thanks a lot.

Re: Exporting data
If you goto each individual workout then you can export stroke data. Garmin Connect supports .fit, .gpx, and .tcx activity files and the C2 log exports .fit, so use that. BUT this means you need to do each workout one at a time. YUK.Konstank13 wrote: ↑September 4th, 2021, 3:20 pmHi

If you bulk download you only get summary data. " The CSV file consists of all the workout data of the year respectively. " no, just summary. It's not the same as the data you get when you download one at a time. You can see this if you export the years data as CSV from C2 and then open with a spread sheet like openoffice / liberoffice / excel. That's why Garmin is upset when you try to load the CSV data.
I wish there was a solution, but I am not aware of any. There is an HTTP interface to pull data from the C2 log so someone good at scripting & restful APIs could build something. There is also a Performance Monitor CSAFE Communication Definition so someone skilled with those flows could pull the data direct from the PM5 over usb or bluetooth. AFAIK no one has build any tools that would help.
Re: Exporting data
I have a question. My model D, PM5 is bluetoothed to my android. I use erg data to record workouts and upload to concept 2 log book.
I also have it synced to Garmin connect and strava. Because I do other activities, I want all workouts on the same platform.
All works well, except when I take a break, the flywheel stops, I start up again, the data will flatline from that point on. Has this happened to anyone else? All is great until I take a break. Flat line from then on till the end of the workout.
Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to fix it?

Re: Exporting data
Do you have the latest version of Ergdata?
Do you have the latest firmware on your PM5?
If the answer is yes to both then write an email to rowing@concept2.com with as much detail as you can about how to recreate the failure.
If the answer is no to either then run the upgrade and re-test.

How long a break ? I stop between pieces in a workout all the time, example Just Row for 20 mins, do nothing for 5 mins, then do some intervals. No problem at all with losing connection between PM5 and android device.
"I start up again, the data will flatline from that point on." Seen on what? PM5, Ergdata, or C2 log or in Strava or in Garmin Connect. Which of these are correct and which are wrong. Knowing where the bad data starts tells us which link in the chain failed. Example, if the PM5 and PM5 memory have the right data and Ergdata has the flatline data then the problem is between the PM5 and Ergdata. If the data is good on the log but bad on Strava then the problem is between C2 and Strava.
Re: Exporting data
Thanks. I have contacted C2. I'll reboot and try again
