Carl - sorry to be a pain, but two further questions. I'll then try to post on a more relevant thread!
1. Is there any way to accurately add interval training on the logbook? I just completed 3 x 10 minutes but have only logged the total distance covered (around 7200). I may be missing an option or something!
2. I have now found the verification codes for each of my last three sessions. However, the logbook doesn't seem to accept them. I guess I need to check the date/time settings or that I have captured the data exactly in the log right? Again, am I missing anything else?
Cheers!

1. Set up the intervals on the PM5 and they will show properly in LogBook.

That is the downside of intervals, as you don't get much data capture other than the finishing result, so they aren't as useful for longer intervals. If you did 30 mins instead of 3 x 10 mins it will be a lot more useful, but it will possibly be a lot less palatable too. The other option is to do 10 mins, rest for the same amount of time, and do another 10 min session etcPete_1976 wrote: ↑August 16th, 2021, 11:59 amCarl - sorry to be a pain, but two further questions. Verification codes are only relevant for a rankable distance / time, so if you do an interval session, even if they are rankable distance / time, then it won't work as it has to be a stand alone session. For example 5k will work, but 2 x 5k won't.
If you use Ergdata or Ergzone apps, both of these will add your sessions and automatically verify them for you too
51 HWT; 6' 4"; 1k= 3:09; 2k= 6:36; 5k= 17:19; 6k= 20:47; 10k= 35:46 30mins= 8,488m 60mins= 16,618m HM= 1:16.47; FM= 2:40:41; 50k= 3:16:09; 100k= 7:52:44; 12hrs = 153km

We don't actually know what Pete's equipment setup actually is.Ernits wrote: ↑August 16th, 2021, 2:21 pm1. Set up the intervals on the PM5 and they will show properly in LogBook.

Probably a good idea to find out what he is using, especially for the heart rate.
By far and away the best setup is now is a PM5 monitor with an ANT+ chest strap to the PM5 and ErgData on your phone for easy uploads of the maximum data possible to the Concept 2 Logbook.
ErgData now also surpasses all the other verification types apart from an actual venue racing event with a genuine RACE result.

Re: Massively unfit newcomer
Thanks guys. My plan involves quite regular intervals in amongst some longer stints. I will just log the total distance and include the splits in the narrative so I can track progress. Also can't seem to get the log to take verification codes but I'm not overly bothered. It's only really for my own information.
I'm monitoring my heart rate using my Garmin watch. Its a decent enough indicator for my purposes. As long as I lose some inches off the middle!
I did an 8k today and logged it but it seems to be one of those odd distances which isn't ranked.
Thanks for all the help in starting off!
