Been considering going for a 1hr tt for about 5 days, so thought I would have a go at it today.

My previous best and only other time I have done the 1hr time was back in March. 12754m, 125 watts, ave 2.21.1, df 110, hr 124.

I did expect to do better than last time, but was not sure If I could make 14k.

Time dist watts ave spm df hr
1hr 13854 160 2.09.9 23 112 132
10m 2276 153 2.11.8 22
20 2315 161 2.09.5 22
30 2316 161 2.09.5 22
40 2297 157 2.10.6 24
50 2316 161 2.09.5 25
60 2336 165 2.08.5 27

Well done Dutch,
This is a huge improvement over your previous PB. Of course, the improvements slow after a while, but 14k is there for the taking. Make sure you don't race every 1hr you do though :).

Cheers max, The hour events are just now an then for now, need a few more 10k to get used to the jump up from 30 mins.
Certainly wont be racing too much lol
I think I can get down to 2.00 ave per 500 in the long run. Not pushing hard for it though!

Aimed to row 6k today at a steady pace, no matter how slow I tried to go I could not get my average time above 2 mins per 500. I did not want to slow to 18 spm just to do so just went with it.
I ended up turning in a time of 24.19.6 for the 6k a whole 50 secs of my previous best. I have not got a clue where it came from, I have been doing alot of intervals the last 10 days so I dont know if that has had an impact.

The PB thread has been oddly quiet recently so glad you did this. A 50 second improvement is great! You said you couldn't get the pace above 500 but that was where you did the whole thing and the SPM was pretty high at the end for that pace - did you change the power you put into each pull? Just curious how you got to that pace and stroke rate.

50 seconds is a huge amount to improve by, well done Dutch. Intervals and just general confidence will have both helped power you through.

Thanks keith, the first 500 I was pulling a 1.56, I think I was driving alot more with my legs than I realised. I really wanted to be 2.02 but I think adrenaline was ramping me along as well. By the time I got to 4k I started to manage to ease off with my legs and start picking up the pace. I sat back abit with 1500 to go, just for 500 meters or so as I was just starting to slip out of range of a sub 24 and then picked up pace again.

Thanks danger, I think my cycling on the bike erg is helping as well. I am starting to do time trials now after 3 months of training and leg power is really coming along.

Way to go winnie, nice that you not only went longer than you have before but were 4 seconds lower than you estimated. Its great when we turn out to be fitter than we think we are.

Thx.....I've only had the Skierg since May so it's definitely a learning curve. I'm upper body light so this is a hard machine for me.

Until recently, my one and only 10k session was back in early February and was 45:00.6 or 2:15.0/500. Now that it appears I’ve gotten past some rowing induced back strain (I think an injured left hand was creating imbalance in my stroke) I’ve completed 5 10k sessions since 7/27, 4 of which resulted in a PB.

7/27 45:07.4 or 2:15.3/500
7/29 44:30.3 or 2:13.5/500
8/03 44:09.9 or 2:12.4/500
8/05 43:37.5 or 2:10.8/500
8/12 43:29.5 or 2:10.4/500

I’m pretty happy with my recent progress.

Nice consistent progress. Since these are within days of each other I am assuming they probably aren't flat out max efforts either.
