Covid vaccine, any issues working out after?
Re: Covid vaccine, any issues working out after?
Been Pfizered twice, second one was yesterday. First one I just got arm pain for 1-2 days from the needle trauma, same so far with the second jab. Nothing else. I did no weights/ergo the day after each jab but trained right up to the jab.

Recent research has shown higher reactions to Az on first shot and to PFizer on second!

Re: Covid experience
I did a workout the day after second Pfizer shot and my HR was about 5-10BPM high but otherwise the workout was normal. Today at 3 days out from that shot, I attempted intervals but a cramp in my quadricep would not resolve and my heart rate was pretty high so I shelved the workout. I did a warmup, and then started intervals and my quad got really tight and would not loosen. I completed the first rep of 1KM and abandoned it as I could not generate any force without my left leg and the left leg's inner quadricep (vastus medialis) just seemed to get tighter as it went on, decided to try doing some steady state very slowly and that was also unworkable, the cramp would not work out so I decided to take an off day. I hydrated a lot first and carb loaded, then after that failed interval workout attempt ate a banana and a Rolaid (calcium) to try to see if that would help but no luck. Probably the vaccine, that's the only thing that's different. I don't think I've gotten this type of cramp doing rowing in the past 2 years. So I guess I'll go for a walk today, and try rowing again on Saturday.

Ampire - Sorry to hear about your negative reaction. I’ve been back doing intervals but can’t muster the times posted before my illness or 2nd shot. The elevated HR is still present for me as well, but it seems to be improving slightly.

I hope you get well soon. Keep at it and I am sure you will get there.Joebasscat wrote: ↑May 14th, 2021, 8:47 pmAmpire - Sorry to hear about your negative reaction. I think I'm pretty much back to normal, HR seems maybe 5 BPM high but close enough.

Got my 1st Pfizer shot yesterday. Apart from a sore arm, I was fine. Did a 5 x 2k session today with no problems.

Re: Covid vaccine, any issues working out after?
Had my 2nd jab last weekend and have had terrible anxiety since, it has slightly eased today. Total body muscular aches from tuesday last week until today, brain fog slightest set back with anything and it turned into a major disaster mantally. I feel tonight I will actually be able to do my bike erg. I have been sweating myself stupid. Just drained really. Even as I write this I can see the drama I am putting into it lol
I will never have one again.

For balance I am one of the lucky ones. After first AZ i had elevated HR (10-15BPM for several days) a moderate headache that responded to paracemol and sore arm. After second nothing, HR lower than usual the day after!

I've only had one jab, but I felt a bit lethargic for 24 hours about 18 hours afterwards. No other issues, and hopefully it will be similar after second jab in a month's time

Re: Covid vaccine, any issues working out after?
Had the 2 AZ jabs and no adverse reaction either time - was a bit wary after the first one as I am on anti-coagulant medication, so erred on the side of caution and had a very light row.

Re: Covid vaccine, any issues working out after?
I am all done now - 2nd one this week. AZ.
First one I was OK that day, but next two days after that sore arm and feeling fairly rough.
2nd AZ jab this week - no sore arm and nothing else I really noticed at all.
They are talking about a booster in the Autumn in the UK so we wait to see what happens whether we get a third or not this year.
