Hi

I mostly train using a heart rate monitor (Polar S410) and quite often I find that the monitor falls out (Heart rate at 00).

Does anyone know which frequency the heart rate monitor uses? Can wireless network or other communication networks disturb it? Any other reasons why this happens?

Thanks in advance
Anna

I find a certain amount of sweat is needed to ensure good electrical contact between me and my band and so provide a signal.
Batteries can fail too.

Once I was riding past an electrified railway line, looked at my heart rate monitor and thought I was having a heart attack.
Stu

this comes from scott (our electronic engineer)

QUOTE

about 5Khz magnetic field transmission. Wireless network: unlikely. More likely range or magnetic field generated by TV/Stereo speakers/etc.

-bp

Hi

Thanks for clearing that up. It could possibly be a monster speaker which is placed next to the rower. I will try and puch it back a bit and see what happens.

BTW: Bill I hope you got my response to your questions (the posts don't appear in my personal "sent items").

Thanks
/Anna
