Posted a time for the c2ctc. Wow man, I hardly ever do a 1k effort. It felt like I nearly died 3 times during the effort. I was 4 seconds off my PR on a 1k but I am very happy with that. 1014m as a result.

Great score!
Only two more rowers of any kind to fill Boat VII. Male or female, lightweight or heavy. We can do this!

Re: Forum Flyers
Well done team on May challenge. Did the June challenge today, I've been doing long slow rows so found this one not too bad. Took the first one at moderate pace then picked it up the next two so did 18m24, 12m6 and 5m 56. Total time 36m28
This one probably needs a few more attempts to get it right.

Re: Forum Flyers
Thanks everyone.
This one is pushing the limit in terms of total time for a CTC challenge, you won't see many that are this long. If you need motivation to tackle longer distances, the Concept2 logbook challenges offer more opportunities, I would say.AnnaRaeGreen wrote: ↑May 29th, 2021, 11:04 amFrom the CTC forum page - the June CTC challenge has been posted:
"“The GA Summer 6-Miler”
3 miles (4827m)
rest 3min
2 miles (3218m)
Rest 2min
1mile (1609m)
First rep from a standing start, remaining reps can be rolling starts.
Score is total working time for the full 6 miles (9654m)."
I have to say I am not looking forward to this. The longest I have done in one sitting is a 3x3000m. I guess it will be good for me . It is one of the reasons I like these challenges.

Last month, Team Tube Stop broke the “integer time only” stipulation (and resulting power/pace calc) without reproof or correction so perhaps anything goes?macroth wrote: ↑June 1st, 2021, 3:16 amThanks everyone.

It will be good for you, ARG, if you choose to think so, and you have so it will.

Re: Forum Flyers
The rule is less than 45 minutes / less than 10K. So this 9.6km just about fits OK.
I don't think I'll be able to do it, haven't been to the gym since March 16th 2020. I've booked an hour session for Friday afternoon, but that's going to have to be a "learn to row again" one.
Re: Forum Flyers
First attempt at the June 9654m - last mile first 600m wasnt paying attention and thought I'd put in 1309m instead of 1609....so i stopped for a bit to try to do math in my head. Well that didn't go well with the heat and lack of oxygen, so then i pushed on but had already lost time and motivation.
Finished and saw the distance was correct. Uggh! Think it was a decent effort for me though. Maybe take out 20secs at most.

Glad it worked out in the end, Rich. I'm definitely not planning on doing this one more than once regardless of how it goes .

Yes, well done Rich. Not an easy challenge this month. I definitely won't be having multiple attempts at it either...

Re: Forum Flyers
OK, so I did the June CTC this morning but I didn't like it. Maybe because I picked the most humid day of the year so far and got drenched in sweat early and often. That 2' rest between the 2nd and 3rd piece seemed like no rest at all.
I'll probably do another before the month is over but don't expect to like that either.
