100m PB 13.6 (-0.2)

not the PB I wanted, su 1:20 500m was the plan, but since yesterday I have a little cough and problems breathing through the nose, so 500m were no option.
Back and legs felt very fresh, so decided to try the 100m.
In fact it were 2 PBs, Lowpull of 1:04 is 1 split faster too 😁
Hopefully I can try the 500 tomorrow or Sunday.

Still consider myself a newbie as only been rowing for a year which has been interrupted due to covid, brought my own machine in January.

Did a HM last night for the May Challenge managed a new PB ( although its only my 2nd one)
1:34.37 done at 2:14.5/500 @ 19s/m :D

Compared to last years effort of 2:17.7 @ 22s/m. when comparing the speed and rate could anyone advise is the improvement due to fitness, strength or endurance :?:
Great progress, congrats on the HM PB :)

Nearly didn't post this, but what the hell!

SkiErg

25:29.6 6,000m 2:07.4 169 881 34

4:15.5 1,000m 2:07.7 168 877 33
4:15.1 2,000m 2:07.5 169 880 33
4:15.0 3,000m 2:07.5 169 881 34
4:15.1 4,000m 2:07.5 169 880 35
4:15.1 5,000m 2:07.5 169 880 35
4:13.8 6,000m 2:06.9 171 889 35

The only other time I did a 6k piece on the SkiErg, it was an actual time trial, and I HD'd (HU on the SkiErg, actually) for well over a minute before convincing myself to finish.

Today's effort was just a training piece (500m on/500m off, pace 2:05/2:11), so a case of tortoise beating hare (not that anyone would ever describe my athletic pursuits as hare-like...).

A PB is a PB, no matter how soft.
Gotta celebrate those PB bud......well done Max.....I'm still finding my feet on the Skierg but hoping to get my times closer to your in time.

As some of you might know I hardy ever touch the C2 anymore because the focus is on cycling atm. However, I managed to surprise myself yesterday equalling my PB on the 5k yesterday @ 18:17.... It seems that my basic conditioning is pretty good and if I start rowing more I'll be able to set some new PR's.
Congrats.....clearly the cycling is keeping you in shape

Nice one rtb, especially considering the lack of specific erg time.

rowing about 8 months before the first lockdown doing the BPP then had 5/6 months off ( doing nothing fitness wise)with first lockdown back for a few months getting back to where I was then lockdown again  Then as said brought my own Erg for home. I tend to do 10k - 15k rows 3 or 4 times a week. I find my comfortable stroke rate is 19/20 and have drag factor 115
Having your own erg can be a big factor in getting better, as you know it's well maintained, and you can feel more comfortable on it. Did you 10-15k regularly before the first lockdown? That sort of distance will really help to improve a HM.

Just doing more and more distance is always a positive for getting faster, but I'd recommend you try and get used to a higher stroke rate as it will be, or at least should be, quicker.

Very nice work. Equalling your PB with next to no actual erging is very strong, clearly the cycling is keeping your CV fitness up nicely.
