The Indoor Rowers League (IRL) season is now over. Our 2 Forum Flyers teams had a total of 19 people registered, and 7 of which completed all of the challenges in the season. And our two teams finished in 20th and 21st place.
Well done to all the Flyers who did the IRL/FMMC challenges. I was pleased to finish in 26th place in the FMMC Indoor Rowing Challenge (https://indoorrowinginfo.com/fmmc/). Sneaked a bronze medal in April which accounts for half of our medal tally!

I guess i was the other half with a bronze as well, but finishing 30th. It was my first 500m attempt ever.
I'll need to keep tabs on IRL challenges so maybe I can help there as 21-22 will be my first full season.

Put in a try at CTC, went out waaaay to fast and posted a 937. Still in the range I was guessing. Nice to see lots of our complete boats in the CTC last month.

Good result for the CTC, wolfrich. I've not tried it yet but I'll be aiming for a similar distance.

The IRL and the FMMC IRC run the same challenge so you get two for the price of one. But it seems there are far more people in the IRL as I was around 70th for the season in that compared with the top 30 in the IRC.

I'm enjoying my first season in a rowing team. It gives my sporadic rowing workouts a bit more purpose.

Ditto here Spike, but only 4 months so far. Looking forward to full season. Summer to fall will be mostly outdoor cycling, though.

Looking forward to your CTC result to push me for more!

Well, I should be in our lead boat with you now, Richard.
I aimed to hold 1:45 pace as long as possible with your 937m firmly in my mind and managed to just pip you with 954m.

I reckon you could close the gap, particularly if you can get it evenly paced. Whatever the distance, I usually go out hard and die in the last quarter but this time I managed to keep it steady for the first 3 splits then speeded up a little at the end.

Great to see both Palmers on the CTC. Bill is the old man who was active in 2010, and William is the son. I'm sure he'll fill us in on the particulars.

Bill is WHP4.
William is Bill's son.

We exchanged a couple of private messages to get the passwords fixed for the CTC.

Nice effort! That's going to be tough one for me to match. Yes I'm horrible at pacing too, but I'll give it a go. Can't wait to see how the BIG guys on the team do.

Mismatch ordinal placement to months rowed. Prolly typo.

Celebrated a year on the erg last Tuesday. Had a weigh in to see how much I've lost in that time, and I'm now officially a lightweight! Lost approximately 10kg!
