Well done Willie, and this is a good target to compare against in a year's time.row_boat_willie wrote: ↑April 30th, 2021, 3:41 pmI started rowing in November and eventually started the beginner Pete Plan. The further into it I got, the more I desired some more input/flexibility for what I was going for each workout. I have no dreams of ever competing, but the more I researched the Wolverine Plan the more it seemed like it would better fit what I wanted to do (I like complicated things and customization).
The problem of course being new and slow is the minimum 2k pace to set your Level 4s!
I'd set a goal to close the season at a 2k pace that put me on the Level 4 charts. It's not fast, but can't wait to compare on April 30, 2022!

Huge PB, great pacing!Dangerscouse wrote: ↑April 30th, 2021, 3:30 am
PB by 157m. I have had indigestion issues for about a week so I have been feeling sluggish, and grumpy (it is estimated that 90% of your serotonin is produced in the gut). I felt a bit better today and as it was the last day of the ranking season so I had to give this go.
I had the usual, and expected, wobbles but it still felt unpleasant.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
I chased the question mark, and found the exclamation point. This was a bad idea on paper, but it was a PB by 3 mins 22 seconds. The photo won't load properly so I had to post it another way.
The really rough part is quite well hidden, but the last 7k was horrible. I'm now wondering what is possible with proper rest and on a better day.

Wow! That is amazing. I don't know if rowers have the "benchmarks" that runners use, but 2:40 is definitely one of them! That is great! Would you say are you satisfied and done with the 2:40 marathon as a project or are you even more motivated to do a sub-2:40?Dangerscouse wrote: ↑May 1st, 2021, 7:43 am

p.s. Your last 7km sound like the last 7km of most marathons! Way to stay strong though!

Thanks mate. As it wasn't optimal circumstances I'm still thinking about aiming for a 2:38 result, and I always have restless satisfactionOregonERG wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2021, 1:42 pmWow! That is amazing. I think that a sub 2:45 FM is probably comparable with a 2:40 running FM.
