Still enjoying the newbie gains so i did my second 2km TT in 5 days. I did 7.27 previously so thought sub 7.20 would be possible. But then warming up it was clear i should be able to blast through that so thought id give sub 7 a shot. Wanted to concentrate on rating in the 50's as Hjs suggested but i think my fitness needs to catch up first. pretty happy with the result though. Erg cough afterwards too which correlates nicely with the effort :D

Sub-7 already! Nice one. Looks painful though... but of fly and die there?

PB by 157m. I have had indigestion issues for about a week so I have been feeling sluggish, and grumpy (it is estimated that 90% of your serotonin is produced in the gut). I felt a bit better today and as it was the last day of the ranking season so I had to give this go.

I had the usual, and expected, wobbles but it still felt unpleasant.

Second ever 10k today in 41.47, watts178, spm24, ave 2.05.3, hr138, df135. :D My stroke got shorter the last 3k.

First 10k was 7 weeks ago and did that in 44.58.8, watts142, spm22 ave 2.14.9, hr144 df97.

Aiming for sub 40 mins, maybe by end of June.

Massive progress. I've never got close to sub-40. It's a big milestone if you can get there but 3 mins off in 7 weeks so far is huge!

It looks very well in control, maybe not what you wanted but good, maybe the first one to try next season?

Ps if a wobble does not slow you down at all, I would not call it that way

Thanks Dangerscouse, Your 2.05 pace prediction from the other day was spot on as well :)

Them 157 meters must have been painful, good strength of mind there, well done.
And I did not know that serotonin is made in the gut, so rubbish food possibly = lots of depression due to lack of good content.

Good to hear. It was the pace I'd have aimed for if I was you.

It was a struggle, but if it isn't, you're not doing it correctly

Yeah, poor diet is linked to depression, and it definitely slows me down when it's not right. My diet has been great, but something hasn't been right since my covid jab, and I wonder if it's a slight immune response in my gut.

I started rowing in November and eventually started the beginner Pete Plan. The further into it I got, the more I desired some more input/flexibility for what I was going for each workout. I have no dreams of ever competing, but the more I researched the Wolverine Plan the more it seemed like it would better fit what I wanted to do (I like complicated things and customization).

The problem of course being new and slow is the minimum 2k pace to set your Level 4s!

I'd set a goal to close the season at a 2k pace that put me on the Level 4 charts. It's not fast, but can't wait to compare on April 30, 2022!
