Many congratulations, Jack. I too passed a milestone this week - 15 Million metres! I have to say the prizes for reaching these milestones have improved a lot. At 15MM you’re entitled to a T Shirt and shorts! Wow! I must order the proper size I think I have a sweatshirt (10MM ?) that is huge and consequently I have never been able to wear it. Other C2 booty collected over the years include various T Shirts, a glass, a water bottle, a mug and my prize possession - a chapstick, ha ha, I picked this up at the Crash B’s in 2012. I was so delighted I have never felt able to use it.
Well done, Debbie! I thought you'd moved fully to the BikeErg these days, so good to see the rower still getting some use. You must be moving through the MM ranks on the bike quickly too.

I'm currently doing around 3MM on the BikeErg each year, but much less than 0.5MM on the rower. So with 7MM on the bike and 11MM on the rower, I'll be tilting the balance next year I'm sure.

Hi Dave, well here’s the thing I do all my rowing on Zwift! I started Zwifting on the bike erg but since I discovered the app Rowedbiker I just row now. I get quiet amusement rowing up a mountain. If all goes to plan I will earn my Tron bike this month! Very excited! It also helps that I am a better rower than cyclist so I am more competitive on the rower. I credit Zwift with getting me back into some sort of shape and I managed a HM up the Alpe last month. Great fun! Whatever floats your boat is what I say. :D

Awesome, Deb! Wouldn't have known otherwise.

Yes, the Tron bike is a grind and a half, but a good motivation. I got to it in early January after a few Alpe sessions during the Holiday Challenge. I was also doing all my workouts on any route where I could maximise elevation. The Alpe takes time to get to, and I discovered that the Ven-Top route seems to be the quickest to start climbing up. Did a lot of 1 hour workouts up that slope (have only done the whole thing once, and that was 4+ hours I don't want to repeat again until I've lost some weight :)).

If you're doing an HM up the Alpe, that's an impressive time and pace. I'm still taking 2 and a quarter hours or longer to drag my virtual lump up there. I think I need to fit in a session or two for the team challenge metres, and chip away at the 25 Alpe badge (10 done so far).

Good team effort so far on the World Erg Challenge. 55 signed up, and we've just gone past the 3 million metre mark, lying in 20th. Evan has opened up a solid early lead, but there are a few chasers moving well past the 100km mark. January's big metre man, Freddie, is giving everyone a headstart, but is sure to start pushing out the big volumes soon.

CTC is a bit quiet with only 3 boats floating, but still expecting Sheena and Suzanne to pop an entry in, so we should get to 5 quite soon. Good also to see Lindsay still popping in times, even if he hasn't been on the forum for a while.

You bet Dave! I’ve got a couple long bikeerg rides planned. As for the CTC, I’ll squeeze in a moderately paced 6k today hopefully, as long as there are no surprises from life outside of erging!

I'll have ago at the CTC, just as soon as I've finished off the mud season madness. (Sunday)

Good plans, guys! And I suppose I can't keep heckling from the back seats, and must actually do one myself :).

The tentative plan is to knock off a 6km tonight, but I must still decide if it's going to be a max effort, or sneak it in as part of a 10km for the IRL / FMMC too. At least I'm leaving more time before month-end, unlike some previous months where I've cut it a bit fine.

  Whoops, forgot to enter my time, it's there now!

Got a 2:08.3 pace, beating my previous 6k PR of 2:09.9! And I just finished a 5k at 2:07.1, previously 2:09.5!

Awesome work, Sheena! I have some work to do. Let myself fall off the routine and I definitely suffered for it. Got my time up, PB for the 6k (been a while), but was hoping for better.

Added my 6k to the CTC, I prorated my time from a one hour piece I did recently as part of the World Erg Challenge @ a 1:45.1 split. Is this allowed for the CTC?

I seem to recall Mr. Lawson admonishing me that a time for distance extrapolated from a distance for time is verboten? Can’t find any regs atm. Guess you can let it stand and flush out aggressive enforcement. Better hung for a wolf than sheared as a sheep. I am certain that nothing can be extrapolated from Just Row.

Had to redo the 6k for the CTC as it turns out you can’t extract a 6k segment from a longer row and enter it for the challenge. Fair enough, especially as all CTC challenges can be done within a lunch hour.

6k @ 1:45.1 = 21:00.7.

Set up the monitor for just 1 split of 6000m, seemed to work better for pacing. Most likely just a coincidence.

I tested ErgRace, and it works great when I have fast enough internet, which is when it isn’t raining . Just an idea, but for next month’s CTC, would anyone like to use ErgRace to complete it?

I am in, I was thinking the same. It is a time piece, not distance, so everyone will start and end simultaneously. But I am not sure if it will work for intervals as opposed to a single piece: I will try to find out.

I have not tried to restrict spm yet, so it will be an interesting one. Guessing I will need to take a couple stabs at it to figure out what I am doing, but I think I will enjoy it!
