Does this help skiers?

Curious if skiers have had success using these machines as an alternative to roller skis?

Me being a skierger, not skier, think its different. Rollers use much more legs, skierg much more upperbody. So maybe both but not as alternative.

Anders Aukland certainly does - but as someone else said, as a supplement, not a replacement.

I hadn't rollerskied for a few years until this weekend (covid restrictions, then impact of long covid and increasing unavailability of my fave rollerski route). Anyway, compared to the skierg, rollerskiing is waaayyyy easier. I reckon regular skierging would lead to a significant improvement in ski-specific conditioning.

If you double pole all the time, even in races, i would say a big yes.
If not, it would be maybe yes.
Muscular side, 7/10 damper is like wheel n.4 on rollerskis or heavy snow.
On rollerskis I don't reach the same hr that i reach on skierg.
Anyway this is my first season that i use skierg (2/wk) so i will let you know in 5 months :D

ps. this year vasaloppet winner, torleif syrstad, works fulltime as a PT so many wo of the week are on skierg...
