Wow... what happened to this team?
It’s all my fault, Adam!!!

Okay, not really. But I’m also one of the people that fell off the face of the [rowing] earth.
I think the last time I posted, I was starting an online business. That went down the toilet together with $75,000 of my money. Very big downer.

Now, I’ve recovered enough from my bout with COVID-19 to move back from walking to light rowing.
No 6:42 times for the 2K now. More like 8:42.
Maybe getting past this self-imposed imaginary wall between myself & my rowing buds will inspire me to not stay stuck at 17M meters, pass 20 million like Jim ...

It's good to hear from you Cap'n Izzz! I hope you fully recover and log millions of meters in the near future. It was always fun chasing you!

It is quiet out here, and I miss the chatter, but ultimately "we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Sure, David! 20MM by tomorrow at the latest!

When it is, it is. I don’t want to aggravate the tendinitis in my right shoulder or my left wrist, likely stress injuries from rowing hard & long.

Managed a 4,500m row, followed by a 2K & 1K. Was under 20 minutes for the 4,500, so I'm happy. I started back with doing 2K/ 1,500m/ 1K/ 500m = 5K, so being able to do 4,500m without excessive wheezing (my lungs still feel bruised from the COVID-19) is satisfying.

Sounds good.
Keep it up, and keep improving - including your health.

Hi.
Has anyone been participating in the Heptathlon?
I’m finding it as a good way to get started again
Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi Angela, I am not ... I read on the C2 blog(?) about it, and just yesterday I noticed its presence on my PM5 monitor as I was doing something else.

It is good to hear you are getting back into rowing! I just crossed 23MM meters; 19MM on the rower, 2.5MM on the skier, and 1.5MM on the bike.

I fell out of this boat a few years ago when I started focusing primarily on running.

Now I'm waiting for knee surgery - it seems like running over 1,700 miles a year might be overdoing it - so I'm back on the erg, and trying to make a contribution to the team challenge 🙂

Feels good to be back after so long!

Hope everyone is well and keeping safe.

This is an historic day: never again will I row more meters than Jim Conley! Thus far only four members of the crew have signed up for the challenge that started today. I will do my best to keep us motivated over the next month!!

 Easy to do these days Padre!

And with a beautiful Spring ahead, rowing in my basement is not foremost on my mind! Your motivation will be much appreciated.

It would be great to have some chatter on the forum again.

Riyad, I hope that your knee recovers, and you are back at it again soon. Get well!

In early January my Concept 2 arrived, and I have been rowing strong ever since. In late April I have to do the Army Combat Fitness Test, and I believe the erg will help me pass with flying colors. We now have 8 signed up for the WEC with lots of time left!

It’s great to see your posts again, Angela! I did the 5K row instead of the 2-mile run back in May. It was the last of six events in the Army Combat Fitness Test. I met the 25 minute standard comfortably, but fatigue was definitely a factor after all of the other events. I’m going to a doctor next week to get a permanent profile so I can row instead of run for my remaining two years before I retire.
