Hey guys,
Long time lurking and learning. I have all three ergs- love them all. Skierg has given me some clunking/thumping noise on right pulley side. Wave washer sent, installed back on the rear bearing/cup, did nothing for it.
I read up on the issue here, took everything apart, very carefully. Sure enough, the bearing behind the fan has some movement. I installed the 1mm rubber strip and put it back together. Now, much smoother, a bit higher pitch sound- but no more thumping!
As I went to put the side panel back on, I found a wave washer inside on the bottom- like it fell out when everything was taken out. In the C2 schematic, they show a wave washer in between the two spool assemblies.
I took a picture before taking it apart and I'm almost certain there was nothing in between these two spools, before I did the work. Now I'm wondering, should that be in there? I mean, it's in the schematic so it makes sense, and maybe I just didn't catch it when taking it apart. Figure I would check and see if others have the wave washer in that location- then I will take it all apart and do it right.
Also, in the C2 schematics, the spacers are all straight with no flange on them- mine is the same. However, in the videos these seem to show a flange on all of these spacers- was that just an older version, or did they change them?
Thanks for any help!
Where the heck does this part go? (wave washer)...
Re: Where the heck does this part go? (wave washer)...
Wave washer does go in between the spacers separating the two spools. I too noted the spacers not being flanged on a machine I had taken apart that shipped last month.

Thank you, that helps. Guess I'm taking it apart again! Better done right, than dealing with issues later on.
