Nice, I’ve never tried a dynamic before, does it feel differently?
It does, there's more emphasis on the leg drive out of the front. And also with your body not having to move back and forth up the slide with each stroke, higher ratings are easier to hold, but it's harder to get as much force per stroke because you're pushing against a moving foot plate rather than a fixed one.

There's no real tension on the handle once you've got the flywheel moving, which I do prefer, no need to yank the handle into you at the finish.
Wow, sounds so different. I’ve been itching to try a rower with slides and a dynamic and then the virus hit. Sadly I don’t have enough space at the moment for the slides, but it would be interesting to try them or the dynamic some time in the future.

#WRICH Final for Lightweight Men...racing against Olympians and professionals. I stuck to my plan and hit a new PB by 1.7s. Gutted not to get under 6:50 but I'll get that next time

Thanks to John Davies for his coaching and support. Big shout out to the crew in The Delivery Room team.

Squeezed another 0.9 off the 2k PB in the WRICH. Came 5th in the Masters 55 class, pleased with that.
Hit my funny 200+ HR spike at 5 mins again but it’s all okay apparently.

Cracking result Tony, really good mate.

I watched the race, and I was looking at your name thinking that sounds familiar!! I don't think I knew you were racing.

You know my thoughts mate. It was in reality a sub 6:50 due to the racing start, and just look how far you've come from someone who was terrified from entering any competition to being gutted to not go sub 6:50.

Thx Stu, you're spot on and who'd have thought I'd have entered 3 competitions in 4mths after feeling petrified before that. Really hope that they return to in person racing as that would be cool to meet people who have helped me do far. 🙏
