As a couple of you know, I was entering the 500m at Canadian Nationals today.

I had 2 goals:
1. win
2. establish a legitimate 500m pb.

Unfortunately, the internet gods had other ideas and I was removed from the race due to connection issues. I rowed it anyway to at least check off #2. Reasonably happy with my result (1:14.6), particularly the relative lack of fade. If anybody has a minute they want to kill here is the video (begins the moment I start)

Great time! You should have entered the World Championships. Definitely would have at least podiumed in the open and won the 30-39s.

Awesome row Cam, sub 1:15 for a 500m is most certainly an elite time.

Hahaha, "reasonably happy". That's what I'm talking about: restless satisfaction. It's a superb result mate, but amazingly we think you're capable of more.

Awesome Max.
I’d love to try a SkiErg. Sounds like more torturous fun.
Thanks both,

I may have been denied the true ration of glory that I deserve for my magnificent 63rd percentile effort  by a piddling matter of a sub-1:15 500m  !

The SkiErg is good "fun" - only just finding my feet with it, but I should get the nice ego boost of some newbie gains. More strength-dependent than the rower I think (you could do some real damage there Martin) and technique is really important too, just like the rower.
