Whilst I'm really happy for you, I'm also painfully aware I now need to look at my 2k soon

Yes Alex! Well done mate, and this is testament to your progress that you PBed, but there's a big chunk of improvement that you can still grab on a better day: the last 400m proves it

Yes mate, well done! Great row, and a very strong finish! :D
I hope it is good enough for qualification, you really deserve it!

Get in there Alex! Much deserved, is it the top 2 that qualify?

Nice one Alex, you've put in the work and got the reward.
Thanks chaps. I think with stronger resolve in the middle I can do better so more to work on.

Re qualification for WRICH, it's via the open route where top 5 get in to LM40 or top 10 in to LM. Lots of good times in the US Qualifiers today so it may not be enough. We'll see.

🚨 New 2k PB by 1.1s 🚨
It got a bit bitey in the middle, inner demons shouting about but pride kicked in to allow me to finish strong. Whether this will be good enough for WRICH qualification only time will tell but for today I'm happy 😁

Thx @jdmad7 for getting me to this point (more to come!) and for the pep talk. Shout out to all the boys in The Delivery Room for their support too 🙏
Great work Alex. Banzai start there, but you conquered those demons and fished very strongly.

Hope it'll be enough for qualification.

Stupid autocorrect. No wonder you slowed a bit in the middle if you were fishing.

It's unlikely to be very productive on the erg in any case - maybe better in a boat?

Set my new PB at 60min today. 14327m. What was nice my HR was only 128ave (67%mhr). Stroke rate was between 20-23.
Well done. That's an enormous improvement. Hr is very low. Mine redlines most of the way if I'm doing a tt.

Haha. Pretty sure it’s correct. Because I’ve just started back up it felt a little harder on the musculature vs the aerobic system.

Wow, 627m improvement??!! Are you sure your HR monitor was working properly? That average sounds extremely low, for an effort that must have been really tough

Complete jelly legs at the end. Didn't have the cojones to start putting the hammer down until about 200m to go - no way was I getting under 20:30, but this beats the hell out of yesterday's HD.

As a couple of you know, I was entering the 500m at Canadian Nationals today.

I had 2 goals:
1. win
2. establish a legitimate 500m pb.

Unfortunately, the internet gods had other ideas and I was removed from the race due to connection issues. I rowed it anyway to at least check off #2. Reasonably happy with my result (1:14.6), particularly the relative lack of fade. If anybody has a minute they want to kill here is the video (begins the moment I start)

Awesome power, brother!
Sorry about connection.
Is that textbook form? I ask as a relative noob, as your shins were more like 45 degrees vs 90. I’m just looking for best practices, Awe inspiring row. :!:
