Oyster problem for rowing & COVID in general. I'm thinking no Games for 2021, despite what the Japanese & IOC officials say. A shame really, but I doubt they can test, monitor & vaccinate all athletes, officials & sundry personal involved by July. Also, ongoing testing, monitoring, isolation?? etc, during the games...

The World's Juniors Championships were held there in 2019 as a test for the Olympics. As I recall, it was very windy, plus under a major flight path. Hot too. They'll need those waver suppression cylinders, and it will still be choppy at best. Tough rowing course.
Hope they get it figured out. Not having the Olympics would be a major blow to sports, not to mention the economic aspect.

Well, for starters, you do not need to vaccinate the athletes. You also don't need to vaccinate officials/personnel. The Olympics are 6 months away. As bad as things are across the world right now, the light at the end of the tunnel is coming into view. Japan is immensely helped by being an island and thus easily closed off if needed. Most likely you get an Olympics without spectators, which isn't the end of the world. After all, the money is in the TV contracts, not spectator tickets.
