170m onto my 30r20 pb this evneing, at 1bpm lower than the last pb too.
Pretty tough and not much of a sprint at the end. I do feel myself getting fitter every week though, so the next stop is a 8500m 30r20

Interesting too that you've done this on a recent diet of short and very sharp sessions.

. I actually nearly stopped twice in the last 1k....the last time with only 150m to go....the pain was unreal.

Very very good Alex. The last 1k is a monster.
Very happy for you, especially as a few months ago, you weren't sure if you might not be able to do max efforts again.
Interesting too that you've done this on a recent diet of short and very sharp sessions.
Cheers Max.
I think some of the recent sessions are about getting used to the pain required to go deeper. I still have base work to do but that is faster than my previous blue zone bimbles.
Recent diet has definitely been biscuits since Xmas too

Superb mate. Sub 18 is a massive milestone. Taking off 24 secs is also a massive effort and that last 1k is pure rage. Very happy for you.

Belief is a massive part of achieving. The last 1k has to be almost unbearable otherwise it's not a proper effort.
But when all is said and done, you still had to go and do it, and that is a massive performance
