Concept 2 rankings.
Concept 2 rankings.
I wonder if anybody has any insights about this:
On the concept 2 rankings, there are a some (well, at least 1) ranking that seems . . .suspicious. The time is recorded as "verified" but would represent a world record, and as far as I can tell is not listed as such. Additionally, the person doesn't seem to have any other listed times that would suggest they are capable of the time that's posted.
In any case, I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt - and for all I know the individual may have legitimately completed what is reported. Having said that, my feeling is that it is likely an error.
While I appreciate that the rankings are somewhat meaningless (and don't include many top performances) it is nonetheless discouraging to be chasing what appears to be a fictitious time. Anyway, I'm wondering if anybody else has noticed this and/or if there is any benefit in contacting Concept 2.
Cheers!

Concept2 has not to bother, plenty of ranked times are on top, complete wrong, but c2 simply lets it be.btlifter wrote: ↑January 13th, 2021, 1:25 pmI wonder if anybody has any insights about this:

And for verified, there are ways to do this, not for nothing c2, wants for a 2k results, that it’s done during a race, to be sure its legit.
There has been a time where people did cheat big time. For me its simple, and think thats for everybody. If you very fast, nomatter what distance, you could and will easilt display this fitness in public. You simply are fit, and this shows in everything you do. If someone is never seen in public doing what he does, its 99,99% bull.

Considering your sub-6’2k, 17k hour, etc., I’d say you have sufficient standing and motivation to want things on the square. Contact C2 Dena or David and report the suspect entry.

Re: Concept 2 rankings.
I think the same way as Henry.
Having a quick look at the rankings for our age class, there are some great athletes who not only have ranked efforts, but also post their trainings on Insta, with sreenshots, sometimes vids (Jason Marshall, Tim Grohmann, Andi Tomlinson, Justin Farina, Chris Scott, Cam Buchan on YT). These results are legit for sure and you can compare yourself with them.
Even for a WR (except 2k) you only need a verification code, no need to be in public or having it on video, for LWT no proof of weight, so there are different ways to cheat.
And congrats on your 1' PB! 400m is massive milestone but you just rushed through, more to come for sure

Re: Concept 2 rankings.
I really appreciate all of the feedback everybody.
I'm actually happy to report that I heard back (from Dena) and she has removed the entry! Wasn't something that I would have lost sleep about either way, but It's nice that they removed it.

Re: Concept 2 rankings.
What is the process for entering the rankings? It would probably make sense for me to do so.

I did try that before, and again now, but it doesn't show up in the rankings.Citroen wrote: ↑January 15th, 2021, 4:41 amYou head to https://log.concept2.com/log pick a rankable workout and click the rank button.

Re: Concept 2 rankings.
J, you also can't rank it if you row a rankable distance as part of an interval session: it has to be a stand alone session.Big J wrote: ↑January 15th, 2021, 4:52 amI did try that before, and again now, but it doesn't show up in the rankings.Citroen wrote: ↑January 15th, 2021, 4:41 amYou head to https://log.concept2.com/log pick a rankable workout and click the rank button.

Re: Concept 2 rankings.
Hello folks,
great forum, reading for a few months, this is my first post. Rower for almost my whole life (also competitive into my late 20's), since a few years also back on the erg (~ 200 km/month). But no erg on the weekend and in the summer: that is water time!
Just a fun fact on the above: also a "just row" piece can be ranked, but you have to hit precisely one of the "rankable" distances (which is actually not easy). I tried it out (as I was curious a few weeks ago) during a separate cool down and I hit exactly the 1.000 m in the just row mode (the next 4 times I missed it by few meters). It was actually rankable in the logbook...! Not that this information would be useful in any shape or form, but anyway .
Sorry for any grammar/spelling mistakes, not a native spaeaker.
Greetings,

Thank you for the kind words. Again, great forum, already got lots of good advice, which will certainly help me with my first FM, targeted for Feb. Happy erging everybody!
