PM5 / ERG Data Lost half my workout
All --
I am using a PM5 with te Ergdata app on an android.
Today I rowed a 5 x 8 minute with 2 minute rest piece.
The C2 log book shows the workout correctly in the summary Time is correct and distance total is correct. But there is not detailed data after the first 3 intervals. The total time and distance are recorded for each interval but there is no other data for interval (HR, SPM, etc.)/ Further when it is transferred to Garmin and Strava. Only the portion of the row with detailed data is transferred.
Why were the last several intervals recorded in detail and transferred.
When I rowed yesterday for a similar time I had no issue and it was all recorded.
Is there a setting I'm missing or something?

That happens to me too. I leave it a little while before i press sync on the erg app and it appears to happen less frequently.
Re: PM5 / ERG Data Lost half my workout
This happened to me this morning. I have the workout summary but not the intervals. I expect it was because ErgData was not on the phone screen the whole time.
I deleted the entry from my log book with the intention of uploading it with the Concept 2 Utility, but it refuses to upload it, presumably believing that it already has been uploaded. Is it possible to "re-upload" a workout?

I load mine on the log portion of the website but with no split detail.UltraRow wrote: ↑December 22nd, 2020, 3:09 pmThis happened to me this morning. I have the workout summary but not the intervals. I expect it was because ErgData was not on the phone screen the whole time.

Send an email to info@concept2.com with the following details
1. Phone make, model OS version.
2. Ergdata version.
3. PM5 firmware version (which should be V31, V169 or V206
(If it isn't visit https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5/firmware).
4. A simple set of steps to re-create the failure (if possible).

Re: PM5 / ERG Data Lost half my workout
Happened to me for the first time today. I rowed 3 10-minute intervals with a 2-min interval between them. The Ergdata app on my iPhone 7 kept losing the BT connection to the PM5, but it would come back after a bit. The PM5 showed the correct data the whole time, including the total distance. But when it saved the workout to the iPhone and to the USB logbook, it only saved the last 10-minute interval and recorded no s/m data or heart rate data. Very frustrating. I just updated the firmware on the PM5 yesterday, so it's up to date. My Ergdata app is also up to date, as is my iPhone.
I doubt there's much that can be done about it now. I'll see how it goes on the next workout. I just wanted to note that this issue also happened to me in case it becomes more common, which may point to a firmware glitch. Until today I have never had a workout fail to record correctly.

Re: PM5 / ERG Data Lost half my workout
A related question please: Today, I set PM5 and ErgData on iPhone for 20 min timed interval with 2 minute rest x 2 intervals. I aborted the second interval half way through, at 10 minutes into it by stopping rowing and then clicking "Is workout done? Yes", then Syncing with LogBook. What I thought would be 20 min and 10 minutes on the Logbook was only the first 20 minutes...1x20:00/2:00r data. So, my entire final 10 minutes was not even hinted at in the ErgData or LogBook. Is any aborted (partial) interval session not recorded at all? Thank you
Steve

Re: PM5 / ERG Data Lost half my workout
If your data got to the C2 log, and you want to see splits, HR etc. for those strokes you can.
- Download the CSV file from C2 online log. There is a CSV button in the workout.
- Install a spreadsheet product. I use LibreOffice/Openoffice on windows10 'cause its free, but Excel, etc would work. I've never tried google sheets, but it should work also.
- Double click the CSV file you downloaded making sure that "blanks" are delimiters and the data is miraculously put into a spreadsheet. (If windows is confused then you will need to right click file and do "open with" and use your spreadsheet software. But your spreadsheet software should have grabbed the file type for CSV data and get run when you click.) For Google Sheets Choose “File” → “Import” → “Upload” → “Select a file from your computer.”
- Look at the data in the spreadsheet. It's clear, has headers explaining it. Only confusing part is a 1:43 split is shown as 103 seconds. You will see both workout and rest data. If you know spreadsheets you can compute things like watts/stroke, etc.
- Create graphs by clicking on the top of a column and then clicking the graph icon. I especially like seeing HR and Watts for ALL the rest and intervals in a single graph when I am doing short intervals like 30 secs on, 90 off. HR keeps going up into the rest period then comes down. Long term HR trend is clear. The watts show you when you started each interval and when it ended.
