Standing start for the first one then rolling Starts. Just post your total time in the work intervals.

Tried it, just for giggles.
Aimed for 1k -2sec. Was able to sprint the last two intervals faster and wound up with an average of 1k -4sec.
Forgot to do my 1k warm-up 😬

The rests feel generous around the shorter intervals, but I definitely feel it at the 400 and 500

The rests aren’t scaled to preceding effort so challenging to mind and body. The old 250. . .1000. . .250 pyramid is scalar in that each 250m increase on active means an additional 30” of rest. 4km active total whereas the Mercian challenge only 2500m but by comparison very generous with total rest. When doing PP, I took some heat for really cranking the first 250 but found it easy to avoid the redline later and still do lastest fastest. In this one, the CW groupthink about not frontloading really does apply. You two can test this by targeting 2k-4” from the gitgo. The Crash Test Dummy approach encourages accelerated learning! B)

Not to my knowledge. Some of the old timers present at the creation might have had some kit? If memory serves I think Rick Bayko posted a foto from Paris WRIC last spring in which he was sporting a vintage FF jersey/singlet/watyacallem. I’ll have a look and link if successful.

Here tis ➡️

Looks just like Henry J’s FF avatar on forum. Maybe we could do something similar with an iron-on and BYOTee? What think ye, Cap’n Dave?

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you and your loved ones made it through 2020 relatively unscathed--no small achievement in these trying times.

Here's to everyone meeting their goals and overcoming their challenges in 2021--erging and otherwise.

Cafe Press, the company that Concept2 uses for all the custom challenge awards we can purchase, will print any image or text on everything they sell for a reasonable price. If someone can make the Forum Flyers logo image available, you can easily add it to one of Cafe Press's items.

Maybe tack on an image of the logo with a link to Cafe Press at the end of the New Members Guide in case someone wants FF logoed merchandise--just a thought.

Good luck with the January Revolutions and Virtual Team Challenges.

That’s a thought, James. Team spirit minus complications of production, promotion, and distribution.

You on deck for the Virtual Team Challenge this month?

I'm in for the VTC, Jack. I be adding what meters I may.

Blown up a bit, obviously a phoenix rising from the embers. Very apt after the collapse of the UK forum! The parti-colored letters also look good to me.

We could have a design contest. Or, just git er did and use the ‘old school tie’-in to “FF Since 2005.” Thoughts?

I favor the latter so right now putting out an APB request for a higher quality digital image of the hjs version or variants.

For what it’s worth I favour the latter as well.

Found this British concern. Clearly the source of Rick B’s team colors.

FF Facebook has Henry’s version. No idea who or what has copyrights to either logo image? Clearly the designs are identical but different choice of crayons. Was one pirated on the down low? Very likely. Still looking for high rez image.

Let me have a look for the archives as I think i might be responsible for the logo and have the original somewhere. I still have my vest and wear it for all comps.

I’d happily buy a FF vest. B)

That would be a big help, Chris. If there is some interest in trooping the colors, no harm in giving it some play. The Cafe Press arrangement appears to impose neither upfront nor ongoing financial obligation on the party or parties supplying the design. I’ll check their terms. I’ll also commit to buying a tee or sweatshirt for wife and self.

After a few minutes scanning the Cafe Press business model, terms and conditions, and so on and on and on, I get the distinct impression that anyone contracting with this outfit is going to need a lawyer, bookkeeper, and tax advisor. I did not find a simple option for contracting parties to simply kick in their design and sit back job done without the imposition of recurring fees for this, that and a paper of pins. I think a virtual organization with a virtual treasury comprised solely of good will cannot and should not expect any member or officer to take on this financial responsibility.

I am curious if the Nottingham concern that presumably produced Bayko’s kit had and/or has a similar business strategy. Are there really alternatives that limit investment and assumption of ongoing financial burden to get a few t-shirt logos pressed and distributed? Sorry to have to throw cold water on the kindling before it catches but believe I have to.
