60' PB - 16.087 (+308m!) :D

Wow, can't tell you how happy I am to hit the 16k milestone!
This effort felt unbelievably good, and with a bit more risk for the last 5k I think I could have been even faster, definitely 16100+, but 16k was the main goal and I didn't want to jeopardise it.

Conditions were almost perfect:
HRV: 10/10 readiness
erg outdoor, +4°C and a little wind
sleep wasn't that good, but not too bad obviously

That's the result I'm by far the most proud of, not because they are my strongest results (sprint distances are still much better), but because I worked very hard for it and it's not a distance I'm as gifted as for the sprints.

First Full Marathon this morning.

I had planned on doing 30k today and a full marathon next week, but I may be getting the Covid vaccine sometime in the next few weeks and if it ends up being next week I didn't want the rumored post-vaccine "hangover" to derail a FM attempt.

I set the monitor for the FM distance and told myself to be willing to stop at about the 30k mark if I didnt feel right. My nutrition plan was thrown together last minute (can of red bull, water bottle, fruit snacks), but worked out well and I decided to hang on until the end :D .

This is an amazing result. I am very impressed with the negative split too. I try to negative split most TTs but often fail but find it really hard to do on the long rows.

60 minute erg test today. Haven't done a max effort hour before, so went semi-conservative and picked 1:54 at r26. Taped over the HR display so couldn't see the 185+ HR for the last 25 mins
