Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
I already reached out to RowPro support but being the weekend and the usual support timeframe I am asking here hoping to find a solution.
Does anyone know a (possibly hidden) link to older versions of RowPro? I am specifically looking for MAC version 5.6 which worked fine.
Version 5.7 doesn't start unless I use the 2D option (press '2' on startup screen) and the troubleshooting steps (change anti-aliasing setting to none then switch to 3D) doesn't help.
Note #1 to self: never update if it works
Note #2 to self: always keep a copy of the working version.
Thank you

Re: Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
Don't know much about a Mac but I'm also constantly updating my graphics card driver in the Windows environment. Its generally every month or two at the latest.
It also pays to just archive the older versions of RowPro and not delete them until you know the new version is faultless.
Still running 5.5.1 for Windows 10 so its getting a bit old now but I'm not updating until there is a problem with it. Your far more likely to hit issues with the latest version.

Re: Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
Thanks Carl I appreciate the reply. I am an idiot for neither keeping a backup and for updating a working install (i confessed to that in “note to self1&2)Carl Watts wrote: ↑December 13th, 2020, 12:56 amDon't know much about a Mac but I'm also constantly updating my graphics card driver in the Windows environment. Mac doesn’t have Independant video drivers- it’s all updated in Mac software update.. i did update the version of OS as much as I can.. I am not on the very latest OS version (due to app (legacy scanner software) incompatibility) but since version 5.6 worked I am hoping I don’t have to update the OS.. but know I probably will.. which is why I think right now it is best just to downgrade to (back to) version 5.6)
Anyways thanks again. I really appreciate your help...

Re: Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
Its very, very hard to resist the temptation to upgrade to the latest version because mentally you think its better than the last version but due to everyone using different hardware, this is not always the case.
Digital rowing for example told me that they have less issues with Nvidia graphics than Sapphire graphics that I used to use.
You only need to look at the RowPro "Change History" to see that a few people have issues with each release, so if they are all running the latest version of Windows 10, then the only differences are hardware related.
Of course even if you stay a couple of versions back, you still need to store the later versions in front of you because sooner or later you will have to try the "Latest" version and still end up in your position right now if it doesn't work.
Just downloaded V5.7.2 to use at a later date.

Re: Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
I like the idea (you suggested( to save upcoming versions even if not installing them yet. I am so used to software having some archive area (and still hoping someone has a link) on the website to pull whatever I want.. so this is a bit new. I am also used to (trying) to clean my system of old applications as much as possible.Carl Watts wrote: ↑December 13th, 2020, 4:06 pmIts very, very hard to resist the temptation to upgrade to the latest version because mentally you think its better than the last version but due to everyone using different hardware, this is not always the case.

Anyway I can take a day or two off from RowPro, won't kill me.
Thanks again
Re: Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
Solution: I found version 5.6 in a backup I had. Uninstall/re-install (de-activated license first/backup RowPro folder delete it)
Seems to be ok.
RowPro didn’t get back to me, not even a “we got your email standby”.
Always keep a backup, never count on support for support.

Re: Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
Have moved to V5.7.2 a couple of days ago on the Hp Z240 PC.
Doesn't seem to make any difference for me.
I get a failure to load a second row properly most of the time but this is because I'm trying to use an ANT+ HR strap and Bluetooth to Ergdata and USB to the PC all at the same time and its clearly a bit much.
Will just have to live with it because there is no time and cannot be bothered restarting the PC and setting everything up again just for a 2000m Cool Down.

Re: Rowpro Download older sub-versions?
FWIW, your charging cable connected between laptop and cell phone lets you "tether" and get internet on laptop unless that is blocked also.
Good Luck with Frontier. I had DSL with them for years. Finally replaced DSL with cable internet and could not be happier.

Frontier techs I find are really great (nowadays anyway)Tsnor wrote: ↑January 4th, 2021, 2:38 pmFWIW, your charging cable connected between laptop and cell phone lets you "tether" and get internet on laptop unless that is blocked also.

Tethering possible but my cell plan limits it.
Back up and running-following the training plan, hopefully in few weeks I will have some stamina.
