Understood.

How long can you row for now in one sitting at your steady state pace?
1500m for sure, probably more.. so 9-10minutes.. I did 2000m once but I think it was not exactly SS and I have done even some longer timed rows... I think 30mins will be doable within... months... maybe weeks.. I hope...
Shoot me a message when you get up to 30 minutes and want to give rowpro a shot.

You could also just join any of the 30 minute rows available online and just row at your own pace. 10 minutes active with a rest then repeat until the 30 minutes is up.
Sounds great, thank you - I will message you when I get there!
Great idea with the 30m with rests @ every 10m, I didn't think about that as a possibility.

I'll be the outlier since I didn't see it mentioned: EXR is going to crush RowPro and is set to be "Zwift for rowing."

Look at their development timeline: https://support.exrgame.com/timeline/

I am in no way affiliated with them but I paid to get in on the beta. (50% discount for a year if you get in early) The training function is already useful, though not as polished yet as other apps like KREW, ASensei, ErgZone etc.

Probably not.

I think we have all seen the expectations, then its doesn't actually happen. Actual online rowing is clearly difficult to implement in a reliable fashion.

Also your going to have a problem I mentioned years ago, your going to have people spread over multiple software options and the more options the worse it is for numbers online. If you take out those who already have Zwift and have gone to the effort of a "Bridge Device" to get it working and those with RowPro then you have nobody left.

Again they have pitched it all wrong as "Competition". Bottom line is hardly anyone wants to race online. There are an Elite few who turn up at world events but the general population DO NOT want to race.

There is a huge gap between releasing a bit of software and getting people to actually use it. The number of people who started and did a trial of RowPro to those that then bought it and row online on a regular basis must be 1% of the starters. Only a very select few have the required attitude to row online for years and years.

If you're interested, there is a great 5k handicapped race on for tomorrow morning on Rowpro. I've really enjoyed these races. The race starts at 25 minutes and you hold off starting until you reach your expected race time. This is about 22 minutes for me. So I will wait 3 minutes to start and then hopefully most of the honest racers will finish close to the same time. It can make for an exciting finish among rowers of all different abilities.

Consider checking it out.

This sounds fantastic thanks! Not sure I ever did 5k so I guess I start at the get go?
