Does Avg Watts correlate to Avg Power/kg?

Post by CharleCarroll » November 29th, 2020, 5:53 pm

Dear all,

I am just beginning to learn about how to use the ErgBike. I have done my first FTP Test, and I am wondering if 75% of FTP roughly correlates to 75% of Avg Watts? This would be very convenient inasmuch as the PM5 shows a value for Avg Watts but does not show a value for Avg Power/kg.

Warmest regards,
Charles

I would assume so, yes..unless your mass changed significantly from beginning to end of the ride

Oh yeah! Happens all the time.

But it is nice to have a bit of reassurance. It makes sense that Watts, Pace, Power/kg, Projected Finish, RPM correlate to some extent and can be used to indicate Training Zones if a Heart Rate Monitor is not being available.

Thanks,
Charles

Sorry! I meant to write "... can correlate to Avg Watts?"
