Re: Forum Flyers
Any tips on pacing this months CTC 1,2,3,2,1 / r2? My latest 8x500m / r3 was down to 1:55 so was going to start there.
I probably only have one shot at it next week so trying to pace it right first time and avoid giving too much (or too little) on the first couple of intervals.

Following your progress to the FM with interest and for inspiration. Go well!Swittenbrink wrote: ↑November 17th, 2020, 2:08 pmFinally got a seat pad. Made it to 30k. Was painful, but I made it! If I can make the FM at an average of 2:20 I'd be beyond stoked. Aiming for the beginning part of the Holiday Challenge for my FM

I'd be interested to know this too. If it's 9 minutes with rest my complete guess would be around 2k pace?Babbsy23 wrote: ↑November 21st, 2020, 8:19 amAny tips on pacing this months CTC 1,2,3,2,1 / r2? My latest 8x500m / r3 was down to 1:55 so was going to start there.

The 3 min around 2k pace.
The 2 min close to max.
Last min, whatever is left.
Re: Forum Flyers
I just wanted to introduce myself as I just joined the team after finding the cross-team challenge, doing it, and trying to figure out how to enter my score. I'm 43, but have been erging off and on since high school (not continuously) as my dad had an erg when I was growing up. I'm mainly using it as cross-training at the moment, but was looking for some competition to bring variety to my workouts.

Welcome David! Looks like you signed on to CTC, rowed the piece for a seat in FF#4 boat, home and dry. God luv a duck, self-reliance scores big points in my book!

Re: Forum Flyers
Did a well paced 10k yesterday followed by a pseudo interval piece today. "Just row" turned into intervals of 500 to a 5k, setting handle down between intervals and starting from a static wheel. Happy with my pace. My hope was to make my FM pace feel "easier/slower". Maybe I'll do a long and slow tomorrow, a shorter but easy row Wednesday and then FM on Thursday to earn my Thanksgiving feast

Welcome back.MarcWB wrote: ↑November 20th, 2020, 4:39 pmHello everyone!
So... The last time I logged into this forum was 2008 when I was a 19yo lwt.. I was participating in the c2ctc challenges with you guys
Well.. I'm now a 33yo hwt is there still room for a little one?
I had health (mental) problems around 2008 that had me largely give up on everything and anything. But got back in a boat a couple of years later and pulled a 6:24 2k which I was very happy with, before having 3 kids and work, work
Sorry for the life story I've bought myself a model E hoping to get myself back in great condition and my goal is now to rebreak sub 7! I pulled a 7:58 last week and a 7:40 this week, so it's slowly slowly catchy monkey etc...
Good luck with breaking 7 again.
David

Re: Forum Flyers
Had a go at the challenge this morning. Wow, did I pace it badly
I have no idea where I got 2k - 10 from, but I thought i'd read that somewhere...
Anyway, my current 2k is 7:35.2 (1:53.8) and my entry was 2505 (1:47.7)... I really died on the 3 minute interval.
I'll have another go before the months end and try and pace it a little better.

Re did the ctc today: 2568m, 301.1 watts. That’s all I’ve got of this. Body weight was 74 kg, and I hit max HR with this piece. Looking forward to a slightly shorter ctc......

Shot for the stars and missed.
Landed on the moon though.
Rate: 2:22.8
FM complete @ 3:20:54.8
Going in to it I was thinking it was unacceptable to finished with a rate slower than 2:20. About 18k left it morphed into "I just want this damn thing to be over"

Agree with Neil. Fine effort and remarkably flat-paced with reference to target. You didn’t want it over bad enuf to quit! Enjoy your family and after T-day is a memory, check your placing in C2 rankings and identify distance at which target pace began to deteriorate. Analysis serves ambition.Swittenbrink wrote: ↑November 26th, 2020, 2:36 pmShot for the stars and missed.
