Hello ergo-people, I've not posted for a while but have been lurking a bit. The site logged me out and it took a while to get round to sorting a new login and as many will know I've only been playing at the rower last year or so to keep a bit of cardio when my focus has been on weights moreso.

Anway, I thought a couple of PBs done last Tuesday would be a good opportunity (at the risk of sounding like Rod ;) ) to post. I do hope to contribute a bit more in the coming months.

1. New 100m PB of 15.7s (-0.2s) at DF=170. Need to clean the machine as this is max drag. LP=1:15. First Pull = 1:53.
Image

2. Finally hit a "3 plate" deadlift (180kg) albeit with the hexbar. As you can see I'm using the high handles but this still counts as I'm standing on blocks so the effective midpoint of the bar is still the same as it would be for an Olympic barbell with 20kg standard diameter plates. This was at a body weight of 82kg.

Paul, 49M, 5'11" 83kg (sprint PBs HWT), ex biker now lifting
Deadlift=190kg, LP=1:15, 100m=15.7s, 1min=350m Image
Targets: 14s (100m), 355m+ 1min, 1:27(500m), 3:11(1K)

Erg on!

Outstanding work, Paul. Welcome back.

You need to get your bragging rights right, though! 180kg is *four* plates, so really very good indeed.

Thanks. Yeah good spot - you're right...."three plates" is the (modest) squat target now.

SRIC LM40 and a small 🚨PB🚨 by 0.5s. First ever race of any kind, I was extremely nervous and spent the morning on porcelain 🙄😁. I had tested all connections before but sods law a Windows update led to some unnecessary stress 🤬....had to go to my work laptop. It's fair to say I blew my lot early and paced this very badly. Somehow I managed to find something in the last 500m to squeek a tiny PB 😬. Glad I did this before BRIC just for the experience.

I think I took🥈but waiting for confirmation.

Thx dude....I'm so used to Ergzone and seeing the splits that this felt weird. Pacing was all over the shop and I never truly got into a rhythm. More to come hopefully.

Cheers Stu...the last 500 was born out of recent Jurg sessions where I really went deep. First raced 2km for a long time so a bit of a shock.

And me. My first race, I was happily rowing at 1:34 for the first 700m and then by 1200m I was fading very fast and clinging on. I think I ended the last 300m at 1:46 pace.
