Does anyone here post their workouts online? Like on Instagram, facebook, twitter? Would be interesting and perhaps motivational to see what others in our age group are doing for workouts and frequency. Perhaps we could learn from each other or motivate each other?

Perhaps a 50+ rowing facebook group, or a 50plusrowing hashtag on Instagram?

Just a thought :)

I've been doing the Dark Horse Rowvember workouts lately while waiting for the Holiday challenge to begin.

I just use the What Training Have You Done Today? thread on this forum. Although not specific to 50+ there are always good workouts being posted to see what others are doing and plenty of support and motivation. I know quite a few people use Instagram on here though. Strava groups are also used by some. There are so many media platforms these days.... I find I spend too long on here as it is without another platform to look at

Holiday challenge just a week away now!

I'll check that thread out, thanks :)

I was looking for ideas to incorporate strength training alongside my rowing (and biking and hiking lol)

This is a full on strength and conditioning for rowing presentation you may be able to pick bits from. Feel free to start a new thread in the training forum to ask about incorporating strength training. I am sure someone will jump on and help out :)

I'm in for the Holiday challenge.
Going for big meters - have gone big in the past.
Recovering from Lyme disease, my energy is way way down still.

Going to do as mush as can and hoping to don't get run down and sick.
Want to try to push through - see where i'm at.

Great! I am sure you have done the sums on how many days and daily total needed for 200k.
Last 2 years I have finished off with a HM on Christmas Eve! does wonders for the total.

Haven't decided on which charity to pick this year. I am sure they are all worthy but slightly disappointed there isn't an environmental one this year.

We are 42 members strong at the moment. Good luck to everyone who will be kicking off the Holiday Challenge on Thursday. I'll keep an eye on the team and watch for those honour board entries :)

Hi all,

Qualified for the team this month, and have just joined up.

It's going to be 43oC on Saturday and if that's any sort of portent for the coming month, I doubt I'll be doing megametres...
