Seriously fast, Ian. Sub three is a massive milestone, and five seconds faster, with 600m left to grind out, is very impressive mate.
I'm going to have to try and rewire my brain to accept shorter strokes. I instinctively lengthen my stroke whenever I have tried it before.

I would not be expecting a new attempt from my side any time soon for the 1k too painful, I am forever a slow twitcher, and I am focusing on the other side of the ladder now(with the 60 min first and foremost, and perhaps HM or 30 min after). Seriously, this is crazy impressive, especially when not even planned for. You did a bit of a fly and die like I did on my recent 1K PB so maybe could do even better. I am mostly trying to get ready for 2K now but will have to have another go at 1K before too long as I need to go after this time.
