Dave, Lindsay and Jack- You do a really great job of recruiting new members. The team continues to get bigger, better and more active thanks to your efforts...and as result even more fun. Thank you for your efforts. —Marc
very cool
thanks Marc - the Covid related growth this year is amazing. The Flyers club was struggling to compete with the power of FBook in recent years but we have found a niche I think - there is strength in inclusiveness and a welcoming non judgemental culture even though we don't have the elite super fast any more. (and I think the lure of FB is diminishing too)

Totally fell off the bandwagon lately and it definitely has an effect on my mood. This lockdown and remote learning craziness is a bit much(two young boys). Wanted to jump back on with some endurance rowing a few days ago but with a high of 15°F it was hard to do anything other than bundle up and have a drink, haha! This new challenge will get me there! Looking forward to the next CTC too.

When you get back on stride, time to revisit the HM. Your 75th percentile ranking in June is NOT chopped liver! Lots of stamina.

Honestly...not sure how people hold 2:07 for a HM! Maybe I just go for distance, see how long I can hold my current pace 🤣

Managed to complete the skeleton crew challenge in 3 days! Longest consecutive distances in a row! Now for a nice few days away in London and a brake from the rower, for the first time in six months!

Way to go! I needed the entire week to get it done, but finally finished it off with a couple of 7000 m rows yesterday and today.

It's my goal to complete a marathon before the end of the year. I know I have to think about comfort - need a seat pad! Distraction/boredom will be huge. But as far as nutrition/hydration will it be enough to have the Liquid IV hydration packs? I also don't like the idea of having to use the restroom during the row 😬

I've looked at ranked HMs around me to see if any of them have a FM and use that as an idea of how to pace myself.

Any other tips? ☺️ I REALLY want to make this happen and feel like this is my next goal to reach. I like going for endurance more than power/speed right now. Also...there are NO other female ranked FM in CO, so that's interesting.

The only things that could possibly make Colorado women differ on FM results from non-resident women would have to be high altitude, mine tailings, and street legal cannabis. Got to be a few FMs in your age/wgt class rankings. In any case, first time completion and survival with all systems in good order demands an efficient stroke and a sustainable deteriorating pace (not a contradiction at all) rather than a line in the sand elapsed time target. Get your continuous distance out to 30-35k b4 you go for it. Allocate 4hrs without distractions. Make the PB&Js for the kids before the run and kick em out. Turn off beeper and phone. Go offline. Tell your boss you need to finalize some details. Plan on entering the Room of the Half Dream at times; you don’t want to focus on every moment of pain and fatigue. Work out a schedule for hydration and refueling. These serve very well as interim waypoints.

I don’t plan on doing a second FM so can’t address the possibility that they get easier‼️

Always nice to come across another Colorado rower! I'm in Denver. I wish I had some tips for you, but my HM from a few months ago remains my longest single-session row. But good luck on it! (Just be sure to steer around those nasty mine tailings...)

Guess cycling is bigger here (shrug). Based off of another lady in similar filters I'm looking at a pace of 2:30/500 more or less. Was thinking of going for 30k first but began second guessing when other logs didn't show workouts like that leading up to their FM, thanks for confirming.
