Back to 10k from the 2k attempts last week. The good news is the 2ks gave me a better understanding of where the hard limits of my endurance are, which led to a 10k pb today!

41m 14.9s.
Well done. Keep chipping away and you'll get to sub 40

It's a silly PB, because I'm new and every 4th row or so ends up being a new personal best.

But, I was super thrilled to crack 30 minutes on my 5k.

My first 5k towards the beginning of the month was 35:22 on Oct 9th and today's 5k was 28:41.

I would love to see 25- just to be in the bottom 25% of my age category.

Not silly at all! Well done :)
Using the percentiles is a great motivation - I used them all the time when starting out and still look at them now. Its great when you can look at the people above you and think...e.g. if I improve by 10 seconds I can jump 20 places up. You can also look at the people around you in the rankings and see what their PBs are for other ranked distances.

Happened upon an improvement in my half-marathon today. Like last time I had a 90’ UT2 session planned so set the distance for a HM and capped HR at 138 (almost). Took just over a minute off my previous. Would squeezed a few more seconds if I didn’t have to stop to clean an annoying bit of dirt off a seat roller after 15 mins.

Thanks Stu,
It was a UT2 piece and on my plan that’s a Hr zone of 130-138. I didn’t go for a PB I just wondered if I would be quicker than last time. 31 July I did same plan and averaged 2:00.3. 2 secs quicker pace and slightly lower average HR I’m guessing means improved aerobic fitness? 😀

Keep at it and you'll be under 25 minutes in no time. Already making big improvements and with a bit more practice and (maybe) some improvement in technique you might dropping the time even further. Well done.

I think you could knock off two minutes off that time with an all out attack, and you've made some demonstrably big aerobic gains
