Got to my 100k tonight and have a long row planned for tomorrow. I am going to have to hit a couple of double work out days to get my 200k, but I don't see any reason to not hit it.

As we get closer, do we want to figure out what we need to do to push past the team in front? Not saying I can get to 300k, but it would be a shame if we just came close!

Love the bucket comment -- clearly this is not an issue for the 20-something teams!

Don't want to speak out of turn for the whole team but if we could hit 200k average per person that would be epic!
It looks doable with 9 days left after today until Oct 15th. With 37 people rowing it would mean each person would need to average ~4800m per day for the remainder of the challenge. Obviously some will do more and some less plus rest days - but I reckon it should be on! :D

Congratulations Paul! 200k with plenty of days left too.... but keep going! :D
You can get a certificate now on the Teams page. Just go to your logbook and click on the Teams tab. There is a download button. This will just show your current meters though so will change as you row more. I am not sure, but there might be a different 200k completion certificate available at the end as it says on the challenge page:

Anyone who participates in the challenge and completes either 100k or 200k is eligible for the following rewards:
A special 100k certificate of completion.
A special 200k certificate of completion.

Which is a bit odd if you can already download a certificate that shows more than this!
Speaking of meters... I must get my backside down to the garage and put some more effort in as I am slipping down the team order!

Hi all, just wanted to apologize for dragging the team average down :(

I'm a new rower (got my erg about week after the challenge started) so I'm still working on technique and base fitness. Also ... we've had some really nice weather lately and I wanted to get some more road and mountain biking mileage in before freezing temps roll in.

If the weather goes to heck though I promise I'll row more :)

Dont worry about the metres Rod as they all count and we're all trying to dovetail the challenge into our weeks and enjoy the experience
Think your right to prioritize technique as the all the rest stems from it. I've still got plenty to sort out, helps me being part of the team though.
There's always another challenge...

It's great that you are getting on the erg and putting in what you can. Trust me that slow and steady gets it done. I started 18 weeks ago and it is so satisfying to see the improvements in my times and, more importantly, in how I feel!

I have just under 70k to get in to hit the 200k. What time does the challenge end as I see a few double workouts in my future! BTW: I haven't done any doubles yet and so any and all advice will be appreciated!

I am assuming it's midnight local time to you on the 15th as the logbook records the local time against each uploaded session. I have rowed on previous challenges at 11pm my time and these have been included.

Double sessions... don't try for a PB! otherwise you should be fine e.g. doing 10k in the morning and another 10k in the evening. It's just about picking a suitable pace that isn't going to stress your system. You could also set yourself a personal challenge and set aside a rowing day, and row e.g.on the hour every hour a set distance (I had a go at this back in June!).. you will need a few rest days after that though! Good luck with getting to 200k :)

Great effort everyone, we are still in 19th place overall and 2nd in teams 21-50 with a healthy gap from 3rd.

Magnificent!!!

Thanks for the tips! With just under 40k to go, I might not need them, but I might give it a try tomorrow just to see what it's like to do a double. I have only been at this for 18 weeks and have been following the Beginner Pete Plan with some notable improvements. I will have to redo this week, but what else do I have to do?!

Team is doing great and fun to watch the meters pile up! Great job everyone!

3 days to go including today!
We are so close to getting to a 200k average across the whole team.

Some amazing efforts at the top of the board... esp. David who has just gone through 500k and Per who also went through 400k.
So many people 100k+ and 200k+ but every meter counts from everyone!

I have had to take a few days off with niggles but will be getting some more meters in between now and the 15th to add to the teams total.

If you have been storing up workouts on your monitor but have yet to upload to your logbook, remember the deadline for entering meters: October 18 23:59 GMT (19:59 ET).

Apologies for poking my nose into your team thread :D

Here is a quick capture of where you stand. You are so close to the 200k average! Every single rower has contributed! The distribution of rows is also pretty awesome with a very balanced team.

I have colour coded the lists below with green showing those who are predicted to make it up a category by the end of the challenge....

There are 4 days remaining!

Our position as a team
We have 37 registered rowers for the Fall challenge (37 of whom have rowed so far).
We have rowed 7,196,277 metres and are team 21 in the rankings.

The team ahead of us is Team Canada
They have a lead of 32,544.

The team behind of us is Team Ruderathlet
We have a lead of 46,764 metres.

Some (possibly) Interesting Stats
The mean distance for active rowers is 194,494 metres.
The median distance for active rowers is 171,016 metres.

Our top rower has rowed 7% of our total distance!
Our top 10 rowers have rowed 49% of our total distance!
Half of our metres have been rowed by the top 12 rowers.
