An unplanned, unexpected 6km PB by 46s. I was trying to get the cardiologist some data and felt good so kept going
. Not having the HR on the PM5 helped too.
Last ticker tests tomorrow so hoping to get some sort of diagnosis after that

Big congrats mate, as fast as your 5k pace, without any speed training for such a long time!
Good luck, I hope your cardiologist will have good news for you, then you'll have a lot of posts in this thread

Thanks chaps. I hadn't even planned to do a 6km let alone a faster one. Found a good rhythm so thought I'd go with it.
No sign of any issues either but it can be very sporadic. Hopefully I'll get some more info after tomorrow once the consultant has reviewed the results.
Fingers crossed for your wife Stu

All your aerobic work has clearly paid off. Frankly, it was a bit scary watching your progress with all the steady volume as your HR for a given pace just got lower and lower. I think we've all been wondering what would happen once you released the shackles a bit.
Really good piece, and judging by the splits, not even that hard...? Well done.

Thanks fellas. It was such a strange session as I had no plan or expectations and had intended to do 6km warmup before a weights stint but it started well and I just settled into a good breathing pattern and went from there.
It does make a few other PB's look a bit light now but I'll wait for the official diagnosis before taking too many risks. Nice to have a positive though as I was starting to lose interest.

I decided today was the day to get the 5K time trial for the September Cross-Team Challenge out of the way. I was just hoping to keep fairly close to my previous personal best, but I wound up 7.5 seconds off it -- in the right direction. Everything was just clicking, and I even managed a sprint near the end to secure my new PB of 18:48.0, which I'm super happy with. Keep rowing, friends!

Super effort. It's great when everything comes together and you take a big slice off
Looking at your times compared to mine and this 5k PB I would have thought sub 7.20 on the 2k and a big chunk off your 10k are probably there for the taking too.

Thanks, guys, and you’re absolutely right, Dino, that it’s time to take another shot at some of my other times. You targeted the two I’m looking at as next to fall.
