I saw someone else reported issues with recording results for IRL. I saw that I should select Hugh Flyers 2020, which I did. Attempted the 4min (chest still on fire, this one hurts) and wanted to get that in there. Tip/s?
Thanks
It sounded like someone sent an e-mail to the organiser (address is somewhere on the site if you poke around a bit) to get a score added, but they might have fixed the site by now. I had trouble editing my profile to move to the new team name, and he sorted it out quickly after I mailed him.

Dave
Yes, there is a known problem with the IRL for new users.

I emailed Sébastien (news@indoorrowers.org) and he replied with:
"All the new registered users have this issue and I was unable to fix it so far. I’m in contact with the software company but no solution so far. Please send me your result and I will enter it for you."

So if anyone has trouble entering their time, just email news@indoorrowers.org with the time and it should be entered manually.

Sebastien at IRL was very quick at entering my result manually. I see we have 11 people registered on High Flyers 2020, of which 5 have times entered. Hard to interpret the results...not sure if they are using the raw result or age/weight adjusted result? Also we are currently ranked #1...but that might just be due to us having more times entered. Will be interesting to see how the month plays out.

Hi, wondering if I can join the Flyers for the upcoming challenge. I'm a heavyweight, 1.9m, 90kg. I'm on the West Coast of the U.S. (Oregon), so I probably will get a late start waiting for the air to clear out. -Dave

yes of course Dave we are very pleased to welcome one and all. There is a link to members information in this thread. Just sign op for the CTC and there is a monthly challenge and we do meters for the C2 challenges - next one starts 15 september.

⬆️ +1. Please do join us for the Fall team Challenge. We have at least one Oregonian on Flyers. I believe the Pacific Northwest has escaped the perennial desiccation and incineration of SoCal and the mountain west. The smoke gets in your eyes but mostly in our stratosphere on the right coast. I’m beginning to think it’s seeding the clouds and producing our unusually wet late summer.

Hi All, Just joined up with the Flyers and posted a 5K on the CTC - my first post there and here! I don't get on the erg enough but hoping the upcoming Fall Challenge will kick me into gear. Have to justify my new PM5 on my old Model D :)

during last summer and the horrendous fires here the smoke and ash crossed the Tasman Sea and was deposited on the high snow and smelt in New Zealand. it could be felt on planes at 30000 feet too

Thanks Lindsay - some gap fillers!
I am 51, 92kg on a good day which is actually the same weight I was in my final year of high school. Training history is pretty hit and miss, I have had my erg for about 10 years or so and have probably only done about 3 million metres on it, some seasons no metres and others I get keen. I generally prefer running & riding (use to do a few triathlons back in the day) but back and hammy issues have pushed me back to the erg. I rowed at school and then a bit during uni days. I competed at the New Zealand Masters games a couple of years ago, and did about 7:15 for the 2000m. The Australian Masters is in Perth next year so the plan is to compete there - about 390 days to go and would be pretty wrapped if I could break 7min but I am a long way off that at the moment.
We have just moved back to Perth after living in Wellington NZ for the last 5 years and in these current times Perth is a great place to be. I am hoping to get on the erg 2-3 times a week (more during the team challenges) and looking for a group indoor rowing training session if I can find one. The UWA Boat Club may be starting one and I have registered my interest.
My main reasons for training on the erg and generally;
  • I want to keep healthy so I can keep up with my boys
I need to support my eating habit!
There is no better feeling than the first 30 seconds immediately after finishing a workout!
PBs since I started keeping records on the online log
500m/1:38.6 (2007), 2,000/7:10.8 (2016), 5000m/18:57.4 (2015), 10,000m/39:13.7 (2007), 21,097m/1:26:28.3(2007), 30min/7,804m (2015) 1HR/15,252 (2007)

Dang! The 5k was tough as nails but I felt pretty darn good about it. Then Sheena kicks me out of the boat by this || much!  I might have to try again just to see if I can get back in. ...after this week though, I plan to hit 20k for the first 5 days of the FTC.

LOL sorry Suzanne! I ended up at a 2:11.3/500m pace which was the same as my last 2 km timed trial back in April so I'm excited to see what I can get for the 2 km sometime in the near future :)
