for the first time ever I managed to get my 5k as the first ctc entry courtesy of the favourable time zone - beat Casey Clarke to it - he tries to make a habit of it. Just a steady training piece but we are on the board @2:04.8
Great start to the month - cheers!

I'm happy to see the new CTC is a 5k :)
Placed a new PR for the HM and I've been wondering what I can do for a 5k now. This will force me to do that TT.

What's the ranking? How many CTCs we've participated in?

That is correct, so you need to 13+ to get in the top 100, so stay with us :D I've just kept the stats since I started and can't stop

There were Eight in the bed
And the little one said:
“Roll over, roll over!”

So they all rolled over
And one fell out.
There were Eight in the bed
And the little one said:

“80% of life is regular attendance.” 🤔

My educated guess is you could very well make the cut in less than 12 mo.

Hi all,

Just a quick post to introduce myself. My name is Neil, joined the team today! I'm 42 years old, just got into the rowing machine as a way to keep fit during lock down. Brought a cheap machine, which lasted 3 months before it broke! So I decided to invest in a model D. Anyway I will look forward to taking part in the team challenges and contributing a good few meters! Thanks for having me!

Ok all
It is time to visit the Indoor Rowers league for 2020.
It is another challenge opportunity but with a twist
It is a legacy competition from the old UK site that was "rescued" by a French guy named Sebastien and reinvented with a team component.
The idea is that there are 8 monthly challenges that are entered both as an individual and a team
Results are adjusted by formulae that allows for age and hwt/lwt based on proximity to WRs and as a result it actually favours older and lwts a bit llike the nonathlon so suits those who normally don't feature prominently
the team is up to 10 members and the best 8 count each month - we didn't get a team last year or in 2018 but actually won it the first year I think and erg buddy Terry has won the overall individual a couple of times as well as a 70+ lwt
We have a good chance of getting a team up this year I think with our growing membership so I have created a team called High Flyers 2020 to gauge interest. You need to sign up to IRL and nominate the team and then first entry by the end of the month. It is a good mix of challenges but does need to be done each month (at least 8 members) We could create a second team if over subscribed or not bother if not enough interest.
Need to know in the next few weeks if we are going to do it

https://indoorrowers.org/indoor-rowers-league

the challenges are:
September 4 minutes
October 1609m (One Mile)
November 6344m
December 5000m
January 1 minute
February 2000m
March 10.000m
April 500m

Sounds like the Rower's League is similar to CTC. Why not?! ☺️ I've signed up. Just waiting until there are enough signed up before we can start trying for a time to enter?

I tried to see how to enter a time earlier, but it would not let me. I presume we have to wait till we have enough people signed up?

Quick intro, as I think I just successfully joined the Forum
Flyers! My name is Kenneth. I’ve had a Model D for a few years, and have recently started using it more consistently. Now I just need a community and some healthy competition to get past the noob stage. Really looking forward to being part of this!

I've just joined the Forum Flyers too.
Supplementing my virtual running races with some rowing challenges so I hope to have a go at the Indoor Rowers League as well as contributing to the Fall Team Challenge.

well done
The only part of the IRL where the team is important is the 8on8 you can still do the other challenges each month for the individual challenge - six of the eight are C2 rankable pieces which gives you both a raw comparison with your group plus adjusted by formula to compare different age groups overall.
Having to do another piece every month does provide some focus for your training and puts you out of your comfort zone at times.
Just start doing it - you can enter each month as many times as you like - I think we will get the up to 10 in the team
