Thanks! I am glad I got it done as it was annoying me and now I feel ready for the 5K TT, then 2k, 1K. The rating, I didn't feel like I was trying to overpower it, was just the rate that was giving me the split time. In the end I was rating higher but was even lower right before. I rate high as many for the shorter rows, but 5K and up I always seem lower. Not sure what it means (if anything) - just is what it is I guess.Tandstad wrote: ↑August 26th, 2020, 4:20 pmBig congratulations Keith, seldom has anyone deserved to reach their goal more than this oneKeithT wrote: ↑August 26th, 2020, 2:11 pmFinally!!....... So, after a few failed attempts to reach the sub 36:00 goal I had a another try today. Interestingly, I felt good for the other attempts where today I was feeling a little more sluggish. I didn't sleep much last night and legs felt "ok" but I thought maybe today could be one of those surprise days. So, wanting to do a more intense piece no matter what, I decided to set the monitor to a 10K and start out like I was doing a TT and just see how it went. I swear having no expectations always seems better. I was ahead of pace as I got to 3K to go where I usually wobble but held the split. I actually wobbled some from 2k-1k to go but it was more about being cautious as I knew I still had a "sprint" in me. Was right on goal pace as I approached 500m to go and did the last 500m under 1:40. Overall pacing was still a little fast in the beginning but no giant drop off from goal pace so I am OK with it. Stroke rate was lower than planned but where I found the grove. I still think I can do better but very happy and now moving on to the 5K.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Thanks! The 5K will be interesting, may do a 4x2K 5'R next week to help guage where I might be. Seeing lots of reaction to my rating, I looked back at the 30 minute I just did and it was 25, so that is just where I do high 1:40s paces I guess. When we get to 5K I will still prob be like 26/27 but once we get to 2K I will be 30-32 and then high 30s for 1K.iangallagher wrote: ↑August 27th, 2020, 12:04 amGreat result Keith and well deserved! Yeah, I know that is aggressive but need to get Stu riled up. I do better from 5K down and my current 17:27 is really old (year and half) so I think 17:15 is doable but beyond that may be asking a bit much - guess I will find out. Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Yeah, was "half" joking with the sub 17 but do expect to drop a good 10 seconds or more off time. I do better the lower we go but 5K is still a longer row. My best rows (like 1K) are shorter and not as aerobic. I will not be as stressed about a certain time for the 5K right now and just want to improve. In the end it all comes down to the 2K, so just hoping the improvements will end up helping the 2K score.Tandstad wrote: ↑August 27th, 2020, 3:08 amTo provide some data from own experience with 5k/10k:hjs wrote: ↑August 27th, 2020, 2:32 amCongrats Keith, the ones you have to work the most for are the best.Dangerscouse wrote: ↑August 27th, 2020, 12:35 am

Nice 10k and great PB, well done.KeithT wrote: ↑August 26th, 2020, 2:11 pmFinally!!....... Sub 36:00 10K.....35:54.4
