It’s been a while but pleased to say a new 30r20 PB arrived today.
Previous effort was a 1.50.9 average. I just set out to beat that today - and I’d have been happy with a 1.50.8 to be honest

Splits
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
30:00.0 8,210m 1:49.6 266 1214 20
6:00.0 1,643m 1:49.5 266 1216 20
12:00.0 1,629m 1:50.4 259 1192 20
18:00.0 1,640m 1:49.7 265 1211 20
24:00.0 1,642m 1:49.6 266 1214 20
30:00.0 1,657m 1:48.6 273 1239 20
182cm; 89kg; 1km = 2.57.5; 2km = 6.19; 4mins = 1296; 5km = 16.49; 6km = 20.24; 30mins = 8605; 10km= 35.31; 60 minutes = 16205 HM = 1:18.50
Erging since May 2020

Hahahaha, it's been a notable year for PBs for quite a few of us, and it's been great to keep pushing people harder than they otherwise would have.

Nice work! I have never tried to PB this workout but since I don't do too much higher SPM for a regular PB I might do decent on this one. Will have to give it a try.

And Stu - i deliberately didnt check your score before jumping on as i didnt want to set myself up to fail...again. So i was just aiming for 1.50.8 and once i knew that was in the bag it was easier to keep pushing. Now, had i known i was only 4 meter off i would have buried myself to find those extra meters!

Hahahaha, the thing is, if you had started a bit more optimistically you'd have easily found the extra you needed, plus quite a chunk more.

Thanks for all the kind words after my 6k PB!

I'm having trouble uploading today's workout to the log (posted on ergdata forum), so a picture will do.

I set out thinking 1:41/1:42 would be realistic and breaking 1:40 would be like 5%. My legs felt pretty heavy even after a rest day, so I settled on 1:41. I was pulling like crazy at the end, but just didn't have the power to keep it up. This hurt my legs and arms, but not so much my lungs. I gave it everything I had in the last 200m to keep the average below 1:42. An allout 2k feels 10 times worse than this for whatever reason. Drag factor was 115.

Nice work. I think that a slight F&D is okay for the 1k, and you've hung on pretty nicely.
Especially good result given that you're an (almost?) lightweight.

Nice job and while a bit of a fly and die not too bad. The fact that you were going with all you had at the end just to maintain your average split is a good sign that you got a true 100% effort. I actually feel as bad after a 1K as I do a 2K but I may be unique in that regard. The drag factor of 115....DF is a something you have to find what works best for you but for me I tend to raise my DF for the 1K TT a bit. I row everything at 130 typically but will do a 1K test at 140-150. May try some shorter intervals with different DF to see if something else is better. Next goal for you should be sub 3:20.
