Wow....that is some going and a fantastic new PB. More to come I'm sure and love the competition between you guysDangerscouse wrote: ↑August 7th, 2020, 2:12 am
I think this is my eighth PB in four months. Didn't expect much today so maybe later on in the month I can get it closer to 17:15.
Heat and humidity definitely played a part today and I almost HDed three times from 3k onwards. HR hit 99% as an example of the struggle, so don't assume it was controlled.
Over to you Keith and Ian![]()

You definitely should be able to crush your 30 min. time and the "no pressure" might just help.iangallagher wrote: ↑August 6th, 2020, 8:29 pmgood work Keith! 30 Minute PB - 8366
90M improvement but old PB was really old and low hanging fruit. Goal was 8400m+(1:47.1 pace) and I just didn't get it done. Was on pace if not too fast early but thought I was OK, then had that one section where I fell off pace and let myself be OK with just getting a PB, once again I was sprinting in the 1:30s at end. The last 6 minutes below is deceiving as it was mostly high 1:40s or 1:50 until the last 2 minutes. Oddly, I am more confident in a sub 36:00 10K after this as I could of kept a 1:50 pace for another 1600 to get it. Anyway, here are the results, feel free to call me a wimp for the slow down 18 minutes in:

Awesome Stu!!! I was anxiously awaiting this today. Great pacing (I need to follow that) as well. This gives us a goal but I think you will go lower too. 8 PBs in 4 months, how great is that, especially for an established "masters" athlete.Dangerscouse wrote: ↑August 7th, 2020, 2:12 am

Thanks very much all, much appreciated. I was starting to think I was starting to dip in form so it was a very nice, if hard fought, result.

I missed this Tony. Great stuff. There must be lots more to come if you can set PBs with an HR cap (would have been quite a time if you'd managed 1:54.9!). How did the back hold up?Tony Cook wrote: ↑July 31st, 2020, 3:09 pmAccidental HM PB today. Had a 90 min UT2 on my plan and thought that would be just over a HM so set the distance to 21097. 19/20 SPM and 138 HR cap (almost) and did:

1:24:37.0 21,097m 2:00.3 201 991 19 137

15:46.9 21,097m 2:01.4 195 971 20 139
Tremendous stuff Keith. Your struggles with the chimp just show how hard you were pushing, and you're ahead of Stu for the season, which can't be bad! Speaking of whom...
Well done Stu. Amazing run of form you're in. As you've been able to peak for such a long time, there must further reserves as yet untapped!Dangerscouse wrote: ↑August 7th, 2020, 2:12 am<>

Thanks Max. I keep thinking that my form must be declining but it doesn't seem to have happened yet, and this 5k was ideal for me to stoke up my confidence again.max_ratcliffe wrote: ↑August 7th, 2020, 6:50 pmWell done Stu. All I need to do is the 1k, HM and 100k and I'll have PBs set in 2020 in all of my ranked sessions.
I haven't ever ranked one min, 100m and 500m so I might give the one min and 500m a go and see what I get. 100m just makes me think I'll get injured

You were pretty bang on with your prediction and it was just enough of a carrot to make me push on with the last repNo pressure here, but I am taking bets! I have reserved the slot from 8400-8450![]()

How did it feel RPE wise? Was it all out?![]()
I’d say RPE of 8 until the last rep. Got into a really good breathing pattern and felt comfortable all the way. Definitely felt I could have done another 1500m at the same pace which would have been a 10km Pb so that’s encouraging. I’ve only been averaging 20 odd kms a week for a while now so glad it’s not been too impactful so far
