I'm not sure where that came from, my stretch goal was sub 1:35! I coasted a little at the end when I knew it was in the bag, to avoid blowing up.

Well done! 500m is something I don't touch very often - in fact its been ~18 months now since did my PB and haven't tried it since!
Looks like more to come on this distance for you too.

Beat your stretch goal and had some left in the tank - very promising for even lower scores.

Yep. With something like a 100km you can't just fit it in whenever you want so I had no choice, not least as my 12hr charity challenge was rapidly approaching and I needed to start tapering.

If you're not too bothered about time it's not too bad, at least it wasn't when I did my 12hr session. My 100km day was extremely horrific and the only things that didn't hurt afterwards was my hair and fingernails but I suspect i had over trained leading up to it
How did you manage not to hurt your fingernails? I lost one fingernail completely, significantly damaged another with minor damage to two more, after a 100k row. A year prior I lost a fingernail after a marathon row. I'm wondering if there's anything special folks to do prep their hands for marathons or longe?

I taped a few fingers that get blisters before my first FM but still ended up with two black fingernails (smallest fingers) - never lost them though they are still half black 3 months later. I thought this was because they are both crooked from being broke many times and they get "squished" by other fingers but maybe this is more common than I think.
