100m PB - 14.0 (-0.1'')
Not the PB I trained for, but nevertheless a PB
After yesterday's disappointment and the pretty fast frustration-100's I decided to give it a go today as both legs and lower back felt good.
Now I'm absolutely sure to get sub14 during my strength and speed focus training starting in about 2 weeks.

Just made a double PB.
PB on the 6k: 21:59.0 (1:49.9/500m) @26spm
PB on heartrate: 178bpm. Not really a PB ofcourse but after I started training again this year I've never seen my HR above 174/175.
Although I am happy with a PB it was not close to what I was aiming for. My goal was to go under 21:50 (1:49.2 pace). And with my current fitness that should be possible because 3 weeks ago I hit 1:49.9 avg pace on a 2x20 min competition. However, Circumstances were far from ideal. It is very hot and humidity is very high as well, hence the extermely high HR. And I had a dinner last night with an entire bottle of wine so that surely doesn't help either.
Afther 4k I was ready to trow in the towel and quit because I couldn't hold a low 1:49 split but then I decided I was still a long way ahead of my old PB (22:22) and decided to take it easy for 1k and see what I could do in the last k. I ended up just below the 22 minute mark which I had set as a secondary goal.
So happy with a PB but I know there is more where that came from.

The heat, humidity and hangover will have slowed you down so this is a great sign for you to go faster next time, but well done on a big leap in PB.
I always view these type of sessions as a great boost, rather than disappointment at not going faster. Knowing you can do it next time is adding another layer of confidence that seeps into all your other distances. It's all about perception

Well done, the 22' is a great milestone. Without heat and huminity you'll hit 21:50 fore sure. I'm waiting for September to do longer distance TTs

Nothing too impressive but this is the place to put it.
Accidentally PB’d my 60’ today. Just went for a steady state 18SPM at 125HR and managed 35 more metres than before when I stroked 21SPM.

That's good to PB using three SPM less. Was it capped at 125 too?

Went for a guaranteed under 130 and apart from one of those odd bits where it suddenly shot to 132 for 2 seconds the highest was 128. Wanted to keep it low stress as I have 4 x 2k tomorrow

Congrats on your PB.
Target 1:49,2 and starting at that pace means confidence. That's great. With a little less alcohol and a little more coolness you would have made it. Negative split has shown to get the best results. So maybe next time start just a little less sharp. Im telling this all the time to myself and sometimes I listen
