LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
I use both softwares row pro and liverowing,
live rowing with a iphone4s, and row pro 4.3 with windows 10 10.1netbook
I tried both in two gyms, wrote a detailed summary on the freespirits homepage,
I had troubles with the connection, but it wasnt my fault- the pm5 had the old firmware, the point is this: if this whole softwarething with liverowing or row pro should really become a big issue: here are my conclusions:
1. The owner of the gym should regulary update the firmware of the ergs - otherwise a connection will not be possible for the older ergs.
2. There is still a demand of evolving the apps:
a) for row pro there should be a android/iphone app to mount easily your phone to the pm, or at least a cradle for
10´tablets, so i could mount my win10 tablet to the pm, other solutions with many ankles and a long fixing time are for a gym inappropriate - everything should go easy and quick - the big think on row pro is the really live online training - if some gym users join: there would be more possibilities for a live training - so it is also a market here
b) liveRowing is a app for gym condition, now it works almost fine, but still i have some trouble updating the workout to the c2log, and still the problem of wrong rest times between intervals (crossteam challenge or c2 wod)
3. the most important think for people like me with a tight time schedule: it should go easy, quick and working accurate: it have to be a helper and a thing which make fun...it shouldnt prevent or disturbing you from training...so i use the stick in the gym and waiting for a android app for row pro or liverowing - because i do not want to carry this technic stuff with me...just the phone and the c2cradle with cable- need the bluetooth for the heartrate

Take a laptop and a USB-A to USB-B printer cable into the gym with you and you can run the updates. It takes about six minutes to run.
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
yes i did this in both gyms, and i didnt ask, you should have seen the faces of the gym crew observing me what a hell i am doing with the ergs...but for me it is most important: quick, easy and stable...and this works best with less software in gym: just the stick...and hope in future with my galaxy s7 rowpro or liverowing...at home i recommend like Carl a pc just for rowing...if you have the possibilities...

I used to sit on one ergo rowing it for six minute intervals while I upgraded the one next door.Claudius wrote:yes i did this in both gyms, and i didnt ask, you should have seen the faces of the gym crew observing me what a hell i am doing with the ergs...but for me it is most important: quick, easy and stable...and this works best with less software in gym: just the stick...and hope in future with my galaxy s7 rowpro or liverowing...at home i recommend like Carl a pc just for rowing...if you have the possibilities...

Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Good to know. Thanks all. My old laptop crashed and I have a Chromebook now (not compatible). My son (who is a member of the same gym but lives across town) has a brand new Mac. I'll see if I can talk him into coming with me to my gym and letting me "borrow" his Mac. That's useful information. I probably won't ask permission either. The guys that run my gym just sit around up front and usually never get near the rower. My guess would be it hasn't been updated in a long time - though they do keep it fairly clean.Citroen wrote:I used to sit on one ergo rowing it for six minute intervals while I upgraded the one next door.Claudius wrote:yes i did this in both gyms, and i didnt ask, you should have seen the faces of the gym crew observing me what a hell i am doing with the ergs...but for me it is most important: quick, easy and stable...and this works best with less software in gym: just the stick...and hope in future with my galaxy s7 rowpro or liverowing...at home i recommend like Carl a pc just for rowing...if you have the possibilities...

Digital Rowing should have got onto this earlier, You can really cut down to App to just online rowing only. All the analysis, training stuff can go, you just want to be able to start the App, see who else is online and schedule or join a row, keep it REALLY easy to use. It's still my belief that RowPro will really take off users wise once they get this working reliably with the PM5.Claudius wrote: a) for row pro there should be a android/iphone app to mount easily your phone to the pm, or at least a cradle for

Contrary to what most people think, RowPro is for regular training and NOT racing.

Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Coming Soon!
Same - but I did inform them today via Twitter that HR curves aren't appearing in the C2 Log when a "workout of the day" is uploaded. They said they're on it - which is cool to see. I'm hoping Strava do something for integration at some point as well, as it's by far my preferred log for swim, bike and run.Fulnir wrote:I'm also testing LiveRowing. Syncing to the C2 Log is important for me (both direction!).
Currently, I copy the row data to a USB-Stick after using LiveRowing.
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Is anyone still using this app? I downloaded this evening and tried to register but failed. Not a great start so looks as if it's over before it started!
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Ive just started liverowing. Unfortunately, it app isn’t populating Strava with any metrics, it’s jusr records the event and the time and heart rate as captures from my watch. Anyone have any advice. As far as I can tell I’ve got all the permissions done for Strava but no luck yet. I may move to a different app if this doesn’t workout
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Any chance, that LiveRowing will be published for Android smartphones, too?
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
The Android (early) beta just started not long ago. Join the Facebook group and sign up. It only supports PM5 over Bluetooth right now and I think it's quite different from the iOS version.
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Cool, thanks for the information and the link!
Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Hello:
Today I completed a half-marathon on my erg and I forgot to pair my Liverowing app. Is there anyway that I can manually enter my session?

Re: LiveRowing iOS App: Support Thread
Can anyone please confirm if LiveRowing's Challenge a Friend feature actually works, or am i wasting my time persuing this software. I have not received any reply from their support email contact. Failing this software, is there any other iPhone app that can be used for real-time racing?

Hi Lake
I’m on LiveRowing but not sure if the challenge function works - haven’t tried it yet. Feel free to try my username: jimbo3030
I don’t think it’s a live race - more like your effort becomes my paceboat when I row.
