The HTC One M7 is compatible with OTG cables and you should be able to use it without any issues except charging your phone.

Note that it is not enough that the phone supports OTG.
Something more is necessary, and unfortunately, I have never been able to find out what "something more" is.
I have had the same OTG adapter connected to two different Android phones, which supported OTG. On both phones I tested that the OTG actually worked by connecting a computer mouse to the adapter and verify that I could move a cursor around on the phone screen. Only one of these two phones could see my PM3 when I connected through the OTG adapter and a USB A to B cable.
