I'm ready to order some Nordic ski straps and grips.
However, the Skierg cords apparently have a history of wearing through the Nordic ski grip plastic.
I wrote to Swix about this and they're looking into possible remedies.
Have any of you found this problem with Nordic grips, and if so, how have you dealt with it?

Re: SkiErg 2 Handles
According to Josh at C2, the Skierg cord rapidly cuts through the plastic of the grips, causing the grips to not last very long.
Swix doesn't have any ideas for remedies. Does anyone have ideas for strengthening the plastic, to help the grips to last longer?

Re: SkiErg 2 Handles
Came across this old thread and was fascinated, hadn't thought about swapping anything out on this one. Has anyone made progress on this since April? Fairly interested in giving the ski erg marathon a go next spring, and would love to know if there's anything that would make it a bit more comfy

Re: SkiErg 2 Handles
Yes, I've improved my handles quite a bit.
I'm still using the 7/8" ID flexfab heater hose cut to 5 1/2" lengths. I loop tied the cords to eye bolts at the top, then "connectors" to hex bolts with nuts and fender washers at the bottom. I added layers of silicone vacuum hose in the middle, for more stability and to protect the heater hose. The weight is slightly more than the yellow handles, but they return to the top quite easily on their own. They're quite comfortable, and I like them quite a bit better than the yellow ones, which hurt my hands and were hard to use.
Another advantage is the handles now come down about six inches farther than they used to, which is great because I was always going right to the bottom on the regular set up, and that no longer happens. I've been using them since April, and they're great.

Re: SkiErg 2 Handles
Here's my new variation of the handles.
If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll post the details.
They're about the same weight as the regular handles but much more comfortable.
