I have posted in the ' What Training' thread first of all as I didn't realise I had PBed.

So instead of writing it all again, I PBed my 60 mins by 14m and the full write up is in the other thread

Well done Stu, big congrats! So you started slower, had a down day and still able to beat your already very strong PB, looking forward to see what you'll do on a good day :)

Well done Max!
More than 4'' faster is a lot for 1k, and it will also help with proper 4' pacing. Good luck for your coming TTs, the shorter distances are easier to recover from, so no problem to do them in one month I think :)

Well done Max. As Martin said four seconds is a big improvement. That extra two spm may have hurt you more than you realised.

@Max - good update there on your 1K.

Nice improvement, pacing wasn't that bad as all splits within about 2 seconds. The first 200 usually is quicker as you start with some harder pulls. My favorite pacing strategy for the 1K is, some hard pulls to start and then start to settle some thru 100m, then 300m one second over planned pace, 300 at pace and then 300 one seond below planned pace or whatever you have left.

Great stuff Max, over 4 secs PB is huge on the 1k! 😎💪

Goof job there Max....a sizeable chunk taken off the 1k PB so congrats! :)
Thanks all,

The short intervals have certainly helped me learn to rate up. I guess the fitness must be improving too... although I haven't tried any longer TTs for a long time.

My GF crushed her 30 min PB yesterday... 7129m at age 49! She's mostly into crossfit training but I've been coaching her on the erg for a few months and she really nailed last night... The TT target was 2:06.5.... 262w over the final 10 strokes (1:50 pace).

I was pacing around the room like a worried parent the whole time... lol

8,038 in 30 minutes @ 20spm. Really please to have cracked the 8k barrier.
Then I see Stu goes quicker for twice that time! Well done.

8k r20 is a huge milestone esp. when born in the early 60's!! Your 10k signature PB looks ripe for picking off for sure based on this! Well done :D

1k PB (previous 3:29.4)

3:25.1 1,000m 1:42.5 325 1416 35 180

0:40.7 200m 1:41.7 332 1443 35 168
0:40.4 400m 1:41.0 340 1469 36 180
0:41.1 600m 1:42.7 323 1410 35 184
0:41.4 800m 1:43.5 316 1386 35 185
0:41.4 1,000m 1:43.5 316 1386 35 185

Classic F&D. Was planning on 33spm to start with, but settled in to 35, which was clearly a bit ambitious. There's probably a bit more to chip off with better pacing, but I think that'll do for now.

Want to have a good go at 1' (again), 500m and 4' before the end of June (and I collapse in a heap of too much high intensity cherry without enough low intensity cake). Mmm cake.
This really is excellent work Max. Certainly leaving me for dust on the shorter distances!!!
Massive rate too. I could hold that SPM for about a minute before turning into a fish that has jumped out of its bowl!

Thanks Tony, but there is a big difference between r20 and r28 even if it's for twice the length of time. Your 30r20 PB is a really strong result.
