BikeErg and RGT running on Android compatibility
Hi All,
I recently installed RGT as a Zwift alternative (it is free for the basic version) to see how I liked riding in a virtual setup vs the standard workouts.
Issue is the PM5 shows connected when I connect via RGT but the app does not connect. I have the latest firmware installed.
I received feedback from the App support (nothing from Concept2 as yet) that if the PM5 supports BLE FTMS it should work.
Has anyone successfully paired Concept2 BikeErg with RGT ? Does anyone know if the PM5 uses a proprietary BLE protocol?
Depending on the feedback, I may finally try Zwift after all..
Thanks.

According to this quick search it does support BLE FTMS - https://c2usa.fogbugz.com/?W193758
PM5v2 for BikeErg and RowErg have Bluetooth FTMS enabled

Hi EV_Simon
Thanks and now I see that it is reflected in the RGT Cycling app.
It still has issues connecting. I am now in touch with both support teams...and riding with Zwift in the meantime.
Thanks again

Short update...still not unable to connect successfully. RGT support say they think it is because they need the PM5 to send power data not speed over the Bluetooth FTMS connection. I got great support from the Concept team, even offering to send a PM5 to RGT for testing.

I thought it sends power data, Zwift is certainly getting power data from the PM5.

Have you tried opening a Jira ticket at https://roadgrandtours.atlassian.net/se ... er/portals?BlackForestBadger wrote: ↑January 23rd, 2020, 3:38 amShort update...still not unable to connect successfully. Hi, yes my ticket is running..let’s see what they come with..
Re: BikeErg and RGT running on Android compatibility
Did you manage to connect your BikeErg to RGT yet? Or at least some response from either support team?
When I try to connect via the Android app it seems to work on the PM5 (shows a "connected" message), but the RGT app just keeps connecting and never finishes..
Would be brilliant to get it working!

Hi, I did get a lot of feedback, but no joy as yet.
Latest from RGT support :
Maybe after the next mobile app update, we’re doing our best.

I've tried connecting to RGT and same as you - failed. I used to be able to connect using my Mac and ANT+ but since they changed to the "App" on Mobile and "Screen" it relies on bluetooth and not ANT+ - I can't for the life of me connect.
It sees the PM5 but fails to establish a connection.
Really frustrating as I'd love to try RGT again.

Hi, yes real shame as it looks like a good product. Also premium was free over the last weeks, which I also think was a really nice touch in these times.
Hopefully they will fix it.

I tried again yesterday to connect to RGT (they've had a big update) but unfortunately still the same - no luck. Doesn't look like it will be possible which is a shame.

Re: BikeErg and RGT running on Android compatibility
This is a bit of a pain but....
Pm5 Bluetooth connection to mobile running either "rowedbiker" or "painsled" on android setup as cycling power emulation with "erg mode" set on.
Then another mobile with rgt app connected to first mobile via Bluetooth.
Finally rgt screen app running on win10 laptop connected via hdmi to big TV.
Success.
Power and heart rate connected but no cadence.

Re: BikeErg and RGT running on Android compatibility
So, did you switch the PM5 to rower emulation on the BikeErg? I'm not really sure how this would work, but I'm just the app developer. heh. I HAVE used RGT a couple of times but on the rower.
