60' TT PB +310m 😁😁😁

I had planned a HM but the 60' seemed more sensible... definitely the right choice for today. Many opportunities to HD as doubts bounced around my head 😖 but I kept it going and even managed a little sprint finish 🥵. Netflix Ozark for company.

Nice.

310m doesn't sound like much to anyone not in the know, but it's a big difference in splits.
Over 15k is a big milestone.

Interesting you watch stuff for TTs. I usually lose the use of my eyes.

Get in Alex!! I totally agree with Max 310m is a massive increase. Well done bud

I'm going to try Netflix for my 100k on Monday. I reckon most of the Last Dance (Michael Jordan documentary) will keep me motivated and distracted with the added benefit of a Proustian Rush whilst I recall my basketball memories. I've really enjoyed it so far.

60' PB - 15.779m (+118m)

This was a very hard effort for me, plan was to stay >235W for the first 45' and then see how I feel, but I didn't feel 100% fit and slowed down to 230W. At the end I wanted to reach 15.800m but did a false calculation, started the final sprint too late.
Nevertheless I'm happy to have struggled through and get a new PB, on a very good day I think I can reach for 15.900, the magic 16k not that far away anymore :D

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
1:00:00.0 15,779m 1:54.0 236 1111 24
Keep getting better on longer rows - I see the 16k in the future.
Thanks Keith, 16k is one of the big goals this year!

did first 2k test since 2017....

was aiming for 7.12, 2 secs slower than previous pb.

7:08.1 2,000m 1:47.0 286 1282 30
1:46.3 500m 1:46.3 291 1302 30

1:46.0 2,000m 1:46.0 294 1311 29

Boom! dug very deep from 500m to get into the 7:0Xs

given how little I'm erging I'm really pleased.

Thx Max, much appreciated 👍

Like you say it doesn't sound like much but boy that seems like a long way. Ego says I should be able to do sooo much more but I'm not really capable on current form.

I don't watch the screen non stop but tend to follow it through the audio mainly.

Cheers Stu....good luck with the 100k...rather you than me! 🥺

Netflix is one of my best things to come out of lockdown...had never really watch it before but have now binged loads of stuff 😁

Well done! If you haven't specifically trained for a 2k this is a promising sign that sub 7 could be fairly close.

Did my first 2K test in 18 months yesterday and was pleased to cut 9 seconds of my PB.

I think this is close to the limit for me right now considering my relatively limited volume (around 20k a week). Gives me confidence for improving my 1k and 500m times :D

This thread is seriously busy at the moment!!

@JMac seriously fast time and breaking 6:30  well done.

@optimuswolf great time 7:0x definitely something to be proud of. Even at my lowly pace know how hard it is to get that 500m pace down even a bit over the 4 segments.

@winniewinser definitely NOT from the Sergei Bubka school of PB breaking! Huge increase on the hour. Well done.

@Martin's not forgetting our serial PBer... great hour too! :D
