PM5 going to 'sleep' in rest periods?

Hi! New to the forum (actually pretty new to rowing having just picked up a C2 towards the end of last year), thinking of trying a 100k row and my research lead me here. I'll have a play with the PM5 tonight during a row, but is this still the accepted wisdom when it comes to stopping it going to sleep during breaks?

I'd be aiming to keep any break minimal, but could be a couple mins I suppose. Just wondering if I need to ask the good lady to come press a button or two while I nip to the toilet.

I've never timed a break (and it's many years since I rowed far enough to need one!), but when I did I had time to run upstairs to the bathroom, deal with the necessary, pour a glass of OJ and head back down to the erg before it timing out. So maybe brief the missus on what to do if you get locked in the bathroom, but in general you should be fine.

Might be prudent to check your battery %, and if needed, change the two D cells, to ensure no loss of recording.

The timeout used to be four minutes when you're in a "row" (don't think that changed with PM5). Handle down, workout still running. The clock stops after six seconds. If anyone presses any button except [MENU] then the PM5 will stay alive.

It will be different if you've got RowPro running the 100K event.
It will be different with Ergdata on a connected phone (you get an "Are you still rowing" pop-up).

Set up a workout of 2000m and take a break when you get to 1000m to see what happens.

Connect a printer cable (USB-A to USB-B) to a phone charger and you can avoid worrying about batteries. (Same is true with a wired connection to a laptop running RowPro.)
