Thanks for the congrats ... the half century started as a brain whisper. It is always surprising to me that I can't walk fast or far right now, but I can bike. The first few revolutions are painful, but then it's like the hill climb - you find a pace you can do and you ride that bike up the virtual hill. Kept a close eye on heart rate, and wouldn't let myself start out too fast. We'll see what level of ouch happens later. I do know that I am 7 percent slower this year than last year when the knee issues started to kick in hard.
I didn't set out to get to the top of the leaderboard - but I had never been there. I knew the only chance I had to be at the top of the board would be at the start of the season - especially since I couldn't do the sprints. I've added meters so I could do the half century, but I don't expect to keep adding them just to stay ahead. Well, except for staying ahead of Minnie. Hahaha! I'm putting in more meters now because I have a knee replacement date of June 8th; this was just decided this week.
I'd like to get a couple million meters this erg season....using bike and indoor rower. But there will be a four to six week "time out" in there. Go ahead and pass me! I'll do my best to catch up later on!
Won't say never to the 2K...but it may be unlikely.
