Martin that is a bangin' 1 minute - super strong
Thanks Lindsay, if the erg hadn't slipped off my terrace into the grass it would have been close to my PB I guess, I hope to get a new PB, but Dirk is out of reach I fear
Will you do the 1' too?
Hard times for you, but now everyone can see which jobs are essential and important and which are overrated. I hope you'll soon have more time for training!

I couldn't miss a CTC Martin especially not a short sprint. It wont be my best but should be right - it was about 4 years ago I think that I nailed a 362m which was the WR for less than a week! 330+ will be acceptable I guess.

Just did a 1 min effort as well. 367m. Think I will try again later this month. I think 370 is in reach.
Ohw, and I got a new Low Pull PB while warming up. Did some short bursts and ended up pulling 1:15.

Haha thanks, had a BBQ last night, drunk an intire bottle of wine and topped it off with a nice single malt when I got home... But hey, alcohol is great feul! Skipped breakfast this morning and had a croissant and peanut butter sandwich as a lunch. Did some online meetings and jumped on the rower... But for a short effort such as this I think all that isn't of much influence to be honest. Noticed the tank was empty in the last 10 seconds and had trouble pulling 1:25's.
Experimented with my setup. Set my footstraps 1 hole higher, Dragfactor at 190, rated 48 for the minute... Did my 500m at DF165 at rate 38 and got 1:24.8 avg. Maybe I should try using this setup on a 500m!?

Well done Ronald, very good effort. When the tank is empty in the last 10'' you paced it right
Getting the feet higher helps, for 1' and 500m I'm 2 holes higher than normal, for 100m as high as possible.
A drag of 190 for 500m can work, but propably it's too high. I use 200 for 1' and 170 for 500m, I need the difference as I hit the wall very hard in the last 20'' of the 500m with such a high drag.

Whoa, those are seriously high DFs... I did my 500m (just under 1:30) at 126 - looks like maybe it wasn’t optimal.
But I am convinced of having already converted all my fast-twich thigh muscles into slow twitch... these days I’d be lucky to deadlift my own weight. Can’t remember the last time I’ve tried though.

Unleashed some fury there Jack, good work.
Must remember to do another minute myself some time next week, the one I put up on the CTC was the 20th interval of my 1m on/1m off session last monday.

Thanks for the tickle, Ivan. Warmup was 3x750 on 2’R. A free lunch really, even for me. At 400m, the fun ends!
I didn’t add travel across the floor to CTC entry. Bucked the erg approximately 1 meter forward (sternward OTW) despite the dumbbell ballast in the leg intersection. Thought i was short stroking but must have been slamming into the catch! Wasted effort.

Saw Terry’s placement just north of Graham’s and mine. Eyes about bulged out! Some fellers put up Sleepy Joe numbers early on. I always liked getting over on Henry J when he did one of his stiff back “markers” only to add on 1O0+ watts a week later.
I have considered suggesting a special Early Bird No Worm Award for Forum Flyers who can get a seat in the first floated team boat, bump down thru all succeeding launched boats and finish the CTC month in a short handed boat DNF.
I know for a fact that Cap’n Dave has demonstrated aptitude for catching an early ride in FF1 but has been a bit lackadaisical about consistently fighting the ship to the absolute bottom of the list. I have had only modest success with this approach because there is typically some actual competition for every seat in FF1 and very little for the lwt seat in late developing crews. I am now seeing a good probability of consistently finishing out of the points.
Cheers!

After a month of UT2 training I managed to knock 18.5s off my 2k time. For my age its a pitiful 7.54.7 but something to aim for going forward. Not going to try again for a couple of months cos it bloody hurt

If it hurt you did it the right way! And 18.5 seconds off your PB!? Wow, respect!
